you ca add the date you purchased them. but if you want to have the date it was added to the stash (because like me you added all without dates) I am afraid that is not available

Hey I thought all gundam related items are back in scalemates but I'm missing a few things from scalemates.

B-Packs Expansion Set for Na..ndai Spirits 5067268, 1:100)

For example, above item doesn't show when I search for it on scalemates. I thought the kit was not registered but when I tried adding it to the DB the edit page flagged it as potential duplicate and lead me to that page. It shows up on the Gundammate search but not in scalemates search or stash.

What is the "truly scale model"? As technology improves, toys for kids are getting better details than old traditional scale model kits. The border is so personal and subjective. You may represent the main audience of this site, but you can also respect the new hobbyists, too. It's a keen issue.
Some people may upload a few off-topic kits to this site. I guess that they may leave soon because there are better wiki pages for their specific brands.

I am not dismissing or criticising the Airfix quick build products, sorry if that was the impression I gave. I agree with what you posted.

I do in fact own many of both the Airfix and Cobi products, and personally prefer the Cobi ones which have more parts/details/etc. Of course they do, they are on average 2-3 times more expensive.

What I meant was more "If Airfix, why not Cobi?" if you understand my meaning. By the way, you mention wiki pages... any links? The one I found for Cobi is not very good.

Yes this is debatable.

Unless I am wrong, but the nice thing about Cobi is that you actually see the bricks contures. (and that is the beauty)

So from that perspective Airfix is closer to plastic scale modeling than Cobi. (which is closer to Lego, from the outside)

if Cobi; why not Lego? eg. LEGO Icons 10330 McLaren MP4/4&Ayrton Senna

If Airfix wouldn't be a plastic modeling brand it would likely also not be allowed.

No, the problem is solved here.

you need to fill in both Topic and subject field for multi-topic kits. And you can assign both the main topic and the extra topics. (without having to re-add the main topic a second time)

Because without people would add 10's of topics.
Without it, we miss key info in the facts section

The kit (there are actually several cases) is sold as:
1) Shop (just the ground floor, with a flat roof)
2) Shop and Office Block (same shop on ground floor, with additional parts for office above it)

I since found that it is possible to link the single-topic kit with the two-topic ones, provided that both have dates in the 196x format; initially the "original" kit (with the lower kit number) had the date 1966, since it is known, while the others had the date 196x date while the other one. Presumably there is some logic.

I don't have box top illustrations to show you, but I have now added catalogue illustrations to the entries so you can see them:

In order to see if there are any images of the content you have to hit the edit content button. Then you only get thumbnails and no way to see the images unless you hit edit image. Come on that's horrible!

1. Open the link ModelFun

2. Use Status filter (for example select and then unselect "Completed" - filter works

3. At this point Status, Scale, Group, Category filters work, but Completend and Started dont anymore.

Automating uploads don't work, tried that in the early days and assuming that your data matches our data

Eg. Hobbyboss, hobby-boss, Hobby boss.
Revell, Revell of Germany, Monogram

Same for product numbers. Duplicate numbers exist, wrong info exists

It results in more time validating and fixing exceptions

I fully understand the complexity of the issue you've described around automating uploads. Dealing with inconsistent brand names, duplicate product numbers, and incorrect data is not a trivial challenge. It makes perfect sense that early attempts at automation created more work than they saved.

That said, I wonder if a more robust solution could help strike a better balance between automation and data integrity. For example:

Normalization Service: A shared /normalize endpoint could centralize the logic for mapping brands and product numbers, ensuring both parties use the same source of truth.

Feedback Loop: If consumers could report unknown or mismatched entries, this could help improve the dictionary over time.

Fuzzy Matching + Manual Review: High-confidence matches could be handled automatically, while ambiguous cases get flagged for manual validation.

Versioned Dictionaries: This would ensure stability while still allowing regular updates and improvements.

I completely respect that any such change would take effort and coordination, but I wanted to share these thoughts in case they might help frame a path forward. Thanks again for everything you do — your platform is a cornerstone of the modelling hobby.

That is the normal product page, showing the Overview content picture.
And since there is no quick look created yet (scroll down a bit), there is no Quick look page reachable (which would show the content too, as above in Revell UH-1).
I know, that is not optimal and no solution - I just wanted to give the info, that the content is shown on the Quick Look page.
And btw, the Content pictures are also used in creating a quick look.
