First time building Eduard kit, and it's two at the same time. Gonna be fun, I hope...
28 April, 20:03

I'm building my first Eduard Mig-21 at the moment too, I'm done with the assembly phase and I think it's brillant kit.
I took my time and cleaned the sprue gates are neatly as possible and I'm impressed by the quality of Eduard's engineering.
You're in for a good time 🙂

Decalling done. I chose 915 in her later stages of testing - aparently after hand over to USAAF. I identified 4 liveries that 915 had in her lifespan:
1. Without stenciling with Bell logo;
2. Without logo, with stenciling, gun ports covered;
3. Without logo, modified stenciling, gun ports open;
4. Gate guard without stenciling with red added to stars and bars, big type description on nose an stripes on rudder.
The first 3 also have been seen on 916.
I went for option 3 as it is good documented besides the uderside of the fuselage. I used FOXBOT P-39 AIRACOBRA stencils. The kit decals are somewhat brittle - if using the microscale system do not set as this will give you only a few seconds untill the decal is immovable which I learned the hard way on the upper wing national marking. Sol is enough after the decal settled on its own. I did the same with the FOXBOT decals and it worked fine. Upper and underside decals are my best guess based on the P-39 layout - no photos of the underside exist to my knowledge and the upperside is hard to see.

What is the accepted definition of "reboxing"? Take this Ruch kit, for example:
Niszczyciel [destroyer] (RUCH , 1:600)
It is clearly copied from an Airfix kit:
HMS Cossack (Airfix F2S, 1:600)
The parts are exactly the same but are arranged differently on the sprue, indicating that a duplicate mould was produced. But it is still really the same kit. Other Ruch kits obviously copied from Airfix, such as the Fairey Rotodyne, are shown as reboxings.

This kit has been measured and both the Bloodhound and Land Rover actually ARE 1:72 scale as originally advertised, and not 1:76 as later claimed.

The Airfix Bloodhound missile and Land Rover have both been measured and confirmed to actually be 1:72 scale, as they were claimed to be when originally released. I have therefore changed the scale accordingly, but the following need to have "1:76 on box" added in their listings:
Bristol Bloodhound (Airfix A02309, 1:72)
Bristol Bloodhound (Airfix 02309, 1:72)
Bristol Bloodhound Missile (Airfix 02309-0, 1:72)
Bloodhound (Airfix 02309-0, 1:72)
Bloodhound (Airfix A209V, 1:72)
The Bristol/Ferranti Bloodhound (Tsukuda Hobby 876M01, 1:72)
The following should have "1:72 on box" removed:
Bristol Bloodhound (Airfix 02309, 1:72)
Bristol Bloodhound (Airfix A02309, 1:72)
Bristol Bloodhound (Airfix 02309, 1:72)
Bristol Bloodhound Missile (Airfix 02309-0, 1:72)
Bloodhound (Airfix 02309-0, 1:72)

Cross my fingers for the last meters. I find it always a special feeling to put my hands back at a build from the shelf of shame, overcome it's difficulties and finally push it over the finish line. Good luck with that.
29 April, 22:35

I have the opposite problem. I can't stand to see the model standing unassembled. I'm tormented by this feeling) Therefore, if I've already bought the assembly, then I have to take it and finish it) Every day, little by little, but do it until the end) Therefore, when I see that people write that they continued the assembly after some long time, I envy them very much that they can postpone the assembly.
Andre. You have a very neat assembly and the model looks great even in the photo. I can imagine how divine it looks in reality)
I also assembled an MP4 two months ago and was not very happy with my build. But it was my first experience working with an airbrush. I've collected it now Scania 770S In yellow. Finally I got a result that I am 80% satisfied with.
I wish you success in assembling the MP4 and look forward to the final photos))
Greetings from Ukraine!)
