That looks amazing. I'd love to build a Viking long ship to celebrate my partial Viking ancestry, but I don't think I'm up for building that one. Might have to just build the Revell kit instead.

David, you would be surprised how forgiving wood can be. With your skill set and starting off with a single mast ship like the Drakkar, you will be okay.

Good work V. I believe it was the first British car to be built using metric measurements, but I could be wrong

Love the old Airfix Bentley. I built my father's kit last year after it had languished in a closet for nearly 50 years. Unfortunately the tyres had been left loos in the box and melted a few parts, mainly on the engine valve cover and the gearbox, but I was able to rebuild them. I used SMS British Racing Green for the shiny parts of the body. I think it looks similar to the colour you used. I used BRG mixed with Schwarzgrun and a bit of white for the passenger compartment and a BRG/white mix for the leather. You are a braver man than me stripping all that detail off the fuel tank. It's looking good though.

Beautiful work! Love the musketeers - great touch! I can't believe the decals worked being so old, but glad they did!

Neuling and Mike, thank you for your kind words.
Mike, this was my first attempt at painting figures. I have been avoiding it and although the sculpting dates from 1964, the outcome is not too bad.

An allover wash can unify the colours a bit and soften the edges. And Mike has a point!

Absolutely stunning model. For some reason, the black wire wheels really set off the car. Makes it look so much more purposeful.

Richard and Stephan, thank you for the time taken to comment and your kind words.

Richard, yes I also love the larger scale cars. I am happy to hear that you found this build report helpful. Two aspects of the Mefistofele that is now on the bench that I find is taxing on me is the engine wiring (which I finished) and the drive chain (in process). The end result makes it worthwhile. Italeri's offerings are not "shake and bake" kits 🙂
