Scale Model Challenge 2019
difficult to choose a picture to start the albumb... but this dio (as modeller and also as diver) really captivated me. thanks coporado for bring it and thanks for the conversation!
Dirk Mennigke little dio with sunken plane, divers and even diver light, was a pleasure to see. a pleasure to see you again!
note the second diver in the cockpit! this is 1/144 scale!
another beauty from Dirk, more 1/144
another beauty from Dirk
another beauty from Dirk. most of it scratchbuilt!
and here is where the contest tables start!
picture does not pay justice to it, sorry
you may have seen this one before 😉
impressive B17
tiny little dio, really good
no, it is not 1/35.... excellent
incredible details for such a small thing...
Many of us have seen the building process of this beauty... impressive in person
well deserved medal!
took me a while to find it, for some reason, it was not with all the other planes
disgusting... terrifying.... what an amazing job, it was almost alive!
impressive colors and detail
modelling with a strong message.... fully agree.
great impression of action!
amazing dio. great the way that depicts the moment
out of the ordinary, excellent
a most impressive dio of a P-38 (based on real picture)
Black hawk down
amazing when a dio have such a strong and clear story that you almost forget the amazing details. pity the out of focus picture... 🙁
light was low around it.... this is the best i could do
very small.... excellent!
the two "ants" are actually figures. picture could have been better....
not easy to represent movement so well with static figures!
i really liked this one. model and lights.
amazing use of color in this one, to make you totally focus in the figures. the rest, even in B/W is really good.
hard to see the interior... but even the light coming from above was done on purpose.... excellent
Gunter Prien U47. lovely
even out of focus, i had to have it here... amazing detail paint job
pilot and his plane... really well done
once more... focus culd have been better....
the cover of the horses was just paint job... excellent. and the figure was also good (you can not get both in focus in one shot)
not the ones that you can find in shops.... great sculpting skills
back to German Gamblers, this time, Christian Bruer fantastic HMT Sir Gareth
amazing Apollo diorama from Christian... excellent detail, and amazing presentation.
more from the German Gamblers table
ships table, back on the contest. Last pictures of the album (but by any means not least important, and that is specially for one in particular) .....
the book is... what else? "Das boot"
here it comes.... Lode's Rodney.... i simply love what he has done here, so many models within a model... like the Walrus
Rodney's details
Rodney's details
Rodney's details
Rodney's details
Rodney's details
Rodney's details
Rodney's details
Rodney's details
Rodney's details
Rodney's details
that winch is so incredibly tiny, and so sharp.... watchmaker job..... the picture is actually bigger than the real subject!
back on the walrus and catapult....
look at the detais......
one last view of the Rodney. what at work of art, patience and skill
excellent job!

Many wonderful builds including from our mates. I did like the SF3D/Ma.K - Krote, what lovely rust work.

I know Lode didn't win or even get a place with the Rodney but I am so proud of my friend's entry and of him and his growing skills. I am still bloody awestruck by Christians dio's This year. The micro detailing is one thing but his creativity in planning these things is beyond me, but the skills, just plain intimidating for us mortals! And, guess what? He's a mate of mine! So proud of you guys! Bloody proud! I bask in your reflected brilliance! Cannot wait to share a table with you all in a Belgian pub! Or maybe an Australian beach??????????
Spanjaard, thank you so much for the pics, disappointed that there were no motorcycles this year!

Thanks for the great photos! The Viking was not with the other aircraft because it competed in the "scratchbuilt" category.

Album info
this time i only had time to take pictures of the contest and of the table of my friends the German Gamblers... and what a table that was!
some of the pictures are out of focus... my fault, specially trying to see all the models in the contest (i would have needed 1000 pictures to have them all). that and the lighting... but the place is not meant as a photographic studio 😉
