I bought this silver plated kit with the idea of spraying some Alclad candy over it. It should be a nice base for candy colours. But… there are just too many mold lines lines on the body that need to be sanded. Which defeats the whole purpose of a plated body. So into the brake fluid-bleach production line for stripping and sanding
That is sad, that there is so much work to do on the body 🙁
indeed, it was nice color. but i am sure it will be better when you finish with it 🙂
Lesson learned, do not buy prepainted bodies. I guess the Red Countach suffers from the same?
Did the kit come with any markings? It's a pretty specific race car, what do you plan to do with it?
There are no race markings whatsoever. So I'm thinking it's someone's track car or something. Perhaps a purple body with a black trim.
I'd love to have an Alitalia version, but decal sheets are rare and expensive. Let me sleep on it
Spotmodel.Com has them listed as "stock arriving", but if you can't wait that long. ...
Thanks Bossy, I have some decals on order

Does that camo sounds familiar, Martin 😉
Whoa! Not sure how I missed Martin' COVID debacle. Hope you recovered fully. Build looks great 👍
Nice "tiger stripes" 😁 watching
Welcome back people. Alec, I haven't been really sick, but my stamina is completely gone. Riding a bike at a normal pace for an hour is all I got at the moment. But I'm still here!
👍 👍 👍

Light wasn't too good in the hall. So I had to flash nearly every picture. Looks better on some shots, worse on others.
Highlight of the day was talking with Lode Schildermans and Steven van Dijck.
Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Thanks indeed, that was fun. Glad to see lots of amazing sci-fi and fantasy pieces over there 👏
Some amazing builds. Thanks for sharing
What a pity, I missed the chance to see you guys!

Martin, if it was built during daddy time with your daughter, the kit should occupy a privileged space in your shelf or hers.
Might be about time for some more Daddy time Martin!
My 3 year old granddaughter keeps trying to talk me into letting her build,(destroy) one of my kits. Maybe a snap tight.
We actually bought her the Revell 1/1200 Titanic during the vacation. After 15 minutes she decided it wasn't for her 🙁

If somebody could recover from the initial adversity and continue until getting such a beautiful result, that was you. Many would haved condemned this car to the bin after the melting issue, but you gently returned it to live. My congratulations and respect!
And there is a compliment to frame and hang on the wall.
Nice recovery Martin. I'll call you for advice if I ever stuff up.
You can call me anytime if you want to know how to stuff up. Becoming an expert on that 🙂
very nice result Martin, hats off

Woo Hoo ! The Decal Queen, is one beautiful labor of love ! Mighty Fine Work my Friend !
Despite the many, many imperfections, expertly hidden by lousy photography, I'm quite happy with this girl!
Thank you both for the generous compliments
Splendid work, the first model without blemishes still needs to be made I think, but I for one could be glad with this result...
Excellent work, Martin! I'm getting dizzy just trying to count the decals. Going to go lie down for a bit...
Now that's a real beauty. Brilliant!
Thank you gentlemen! I think I found the recipe for receiving a lot of positive reactions: Paint a car white and slap a lot of decals on! 😄
Is there a car under all those decals?
very well done Martin!!!!
Great build 🙂
Spectacular!! Love the stripe through the firewall
On pic 14: If I'm not wrong the brass part on top is the air filter, and you could drill a hole into the intake pipe next time 😉
Wow Martin!!! Fantastic Result...👍
I spent the day at an amusement park yesterday, and was completely caught of guard by all these lovely comments. Thank you!
Bughunter, you are right. As usual.

Thank you Lode. Who needs reality when one can have BBB? 😄
WoW awesome Miura 🙂🙂🙂
I don't know if Brazilian Butt Bronze is a real color...sounds good to me though! ?
Thank you gentlemen. The name of the colour is based on some banter in the WIP album. But I do think it should be an official Lambo colour from now on 😄
Of course it's a real colour, you can see it on the Miura here above... 😉

It is now possible to add pictures to paints. The thumbnails show when searching for paints, stash, etc.
When the paint is added to a project, the thumbnail reverts to the generic brand picture. Can we get the paint specific thumbnails as well in projects?

I have quietly been working on the interior and chassis. Now some of it is coming together
Some issues arose. The upper wishbones of the rear suspension didn't want to stay were they were supposed to go. Big blob of glue was needed.
During final assembly, I was glueing the headlamp with some clear. The clear part escaped from my tweezer, dodged the carpet monster and the other dimension portal, but landed in the drop of super glue I had ready for glueing the complete headline in the body. Some adult words were used!
And she's done! As usual, a separate album for the finished kit: Completed - Lamborghini Miura | Album by Mahoo76 (1:24)
It is a fantastic job, my friend. Great interior and stunning exterior

Nice and original what-if scheme. Congrats!
A triumph Martin. I'll keep an eye out for the film of the backstory for this model. Hollywood blockbuster? Or Euro Art house film? Choices choices 😄
Beautiful job Martin!
Well done 👍
Thank you gentlemen. One of my better builds and certainly my best paint job (says a lot about the rest 😉 )
Strange, but great fun.🙂
Thanks Jan 👍

Thank you gentlemen. Today a few steps towards the finish line. Added a wash to the gear doors, joined the wings and the fuselage, glued the engines and glued the undercarriage in place. Waiting for the glue to dry now.
It sure is Jan!
So when she was done, she was still a tailsitter! Luckily I hadn't glued the gun cover, especially for this eventuality. So more lead was added and now she stands tall!
I added some streaks with Ammo Oilbrusher. First time too 😉
And she's done. Thank you all for accompanying me on this story. The pleasure has been all mine!

What a great collection images/cold war aircraft. Thanks for posting.
Shame you cant catalog images individually. It would make a great database on SM. Or can you somehow ? Im rather new to the site so please let me know.
I'm not aware of a way to catalog pictures. Good idea though.
Hi, one of the Mirage III's is actually a ex-Belgian Mirage 5. The "Belgian" Fouga is a mix of an ex-Belgian and an ex-French Fouga.
Güther, I believe you on your word. I just copy from the signs the museum puts up 😉
Martin, no problems 😉
I know that few museums indicate correctly the aircraft's (sub)type, especially if they have been repainted with colors and markings they never have worn during active service. At Hermeskeil, several displayed aircraft have this problem. Just have a look at my FB-album about Hermeskeil. It might help you out 😉
Thanks to you and your son for these very handy photos
You're welcome Matthew

Finally some real sunlight, without the risk of a storm blowing away the car 😄
Great job on the paint work and overall finish Martin. Nicely done mate 👍
Each build is just a bit better than the one before. Someday i may be worthy of the praise 😉 Thank you James
it certainly looks well done!
Looks even better! 🙂
Thank you gents
Nice work! You've inspired me to get the kit and try my hand at it!
Go get him Chip! 2 things: 1. The black behind the rear window should be gloss, my mistake. 2. To get the rear window to fit, you need to sqeeze te lower front parts between the B-pillars . That one too me 10 minutes to figure out.
Thank you for that. I picked it up today!
Enjoy the build Chip 👍

LOVE the colour! Very accurate for the time period. Nice job Marty.
beautiful job Martin.
I added some outside pictures in the sun. The colour is really lovely for this era!
it certainly does look really good
Horror or not. It still gives the look from the era. Very nicely done, Martin
Thank you my friends
Per aspera ad astra! Very well done!👍
Finally some sun! Check the pictures here: Completed Churchill VII | Album by Mahoo76 (1:35)
Thank you all for riding out this looooong build with me
But the result, Martin, was worth the long building time
When I typed long build, I was thinking of you actually 🙂
Martin, impossible to beat me on that point 🙂
No more mystery anymore! Wicked!
there is always mystery around the corner with Martin... what's next?😉
Very cool Martin and well done 👍
Loved that beast in Gran Turismo
Next up is a non-existing plane! A BS-plane!
In the original GT it was a favourite of my brothers as well Daniel
And there was some sun!
Nice job, turned out looking great.
The cast textured surface you applied to the turret is particularly well done. 👍
I totally have forgotten that I have done that 😄
I love it!
very nice job Martin
Top result! 👍
Very nicely done Martin 👍
Well, thank you gentlemen
