Spanjaard yeah, i remember those Verlinden books and looking at them jaw dropped, 20+ years ago.... and my first modelling encyclopedia... quite far of current stuff available. and you could not ask the books!
14. August at 08:22:02
Rene Scheiblich So Lode confirmed your sanity Martin :)

It's almost overwhelming how much stuff there is now... Cheers for barely sane and massively helpful communities like all the mates here
14. August at 18:11:00
Spanjaard Cheers to that Rene! :)
14. August at 18:21:21
Peter Hardy Sanity is only a question of perspective.
14. August at 23:59:46
Gordon Sørensen Looking good so far, Martin!
15. August at 04:14:58
Lode Schildermans The higher the fences, the crazier the madmen....on which side of the fence?
15. August at 10:35:41
Peter Hardy Mine are 2 metres.
15. August at 12:46:26
Rene Scheiblich I like that, Lode :D

True about the perspective though. Similar to the grass on the other side ;)
My SO definitely puts me in the insane category.
'why do you bother bending the handles from copper wire when you have them in the kit?'

:D

Martin Oostrom Kerry Cox showed this flyfishing tubing material could be used as hoses for bikes and engines and stuf here: RedRoo

Bughunter wanted to know the diameter and wallthicknes, so I took some pictures of those.
Picture 1 The micro tubing has a diameter of 0.40 mm.
Picture 2 By eye it looks like the wall thickness is 1/4 of that: 0.10 mm
Picture 3 The midge tubing diameter is 0.55 mm
Picture 4 I cut open a piece of midge to measure wallthickness. It comes in at 0.10 mm, which matches my guess for the micro tubing.
13. August at 16:27:01
Urban Gardini There's a lot of stuff like this that can be found among the fly tying materials. I've been a flytyer myself in the past before my injuries prevented me from continuing with my beloved fly fishing.
13. August at 16:30:47
Cuajete Interesting. I knew fishing wire, but I didn't knew flyfishing tubing. Tubing = pipe?
13. August at 21:28:32
Martin Oostrom Rubberlike hose fits better
13. August at 21:41:08
Spanjaard yes cuajete, those are very thing tubes of plastic in different colors. perfect for engines and similar applications :)

Kerry Cox@Martin Oostrom
Martin. What you said and how you said it, made me look 'stupid'. But, instead of loud mouthing some fault you think you found, you should have thought a little more before, "LOOK WHAT I FOUND" and asked that person a quiet question here on the PM channel about your concerns. (That's what it is meant for).
According to the instructions, and what I followed exactly, is the problem here, not ME.
Have you EVER seen a criticism of any ones work publicly broadcast in front of all the other mates by me. ? NO. And you never will, as I always go to the PM channel and raise what ever subject I feel that person should know, instead of making him or her look and feel embarrassed. I didn't appreciate your comments at all, right or wrong.
Kerry

Greg Baker Not to intrude mates, but I thought you should know this is not a PM...
12. August at 02:58:59
Kerry Cox I can't see how that has happened, as I made sure I PM'd Martin and posted it to HIS wall. So how come you can see it Greg. ?
12. August at 04:53:38
Greg Baker Not sure... but I only looked with one eye... sorry. Maybe I should've just kept quiet, but I thought you should know.
