Nathan Dempsey Thanks Clifford, that made my day. I'm sure after I see your F-89 build I'll buy ANOTHER one

Clifford Keesler I did, I have 2 of them now and 3 or 4 1/72 scale ones. It sure would be nice if someone came out with a new tool 1/48 one.

Nathan Dempsey If you finish all of yours and maybe rescribe one, then someone is sure to come out with a new tool.

Clifford Keesler I will be re-scribing the next one. I had to re-scribe the tip tank/missile pods and under wing fuel tanks on this one. The guy I bought it from had already started those, and they had large steps where he did not get the parts lined up very well. So they required a lot of sanding, needless to say the raised panel lines vanished.
This one has been a ghost build and is about 70% done already. I became motivated again when I realized that I wanted to do a Wild Weasel and began scratch building the K/RKL700A ECM pod (shown on the intake hard-point).
Michael Phillips Haha, you think you can slip a 48th scale Flanker project past me??? Not a chance!

Jos Jansen What....! No f@%#cking way...you've to show the entire globe your building process... You know recently I purchased the same kit to make an Indonesian SU-30MK2 Flanker just like Michael! That model will be my reference, absolutely...so please Nathan show us your building in progress, can't wait

Nathan Dempsey Ha! My building process is to copy you guys as best I can. I'll see if I can set up an album I guess the ECM pod made of LEGO is fairly interesting...
Nathan Dempsey Sounds like a good idea. Curious to see how that works. I've always post-shaded metal colors.
Well I had a little snag last night while attaching the wheels. I noticed that the whole plane was sitting slightly to one side. I realized I'd have to carefully remove one of the main landing gear and reattach it on the correct position. This was accomplished after thirty minutes of cursing and tears, but it finally sits level now! On a good note the AK Ultra Matte Varnish worked to perfection. I love that stuff!

Clifford Keesler I have got to get me some of the AK panel line washes, as well as other things. I had thought about post shading it using Tamiya smoke. I looked at it this morning and I think I may re-scribe it. It dosen't look like it would be that hard. Just will have to be careful.

Slavo Hazucha Well done, we don't want this one list like the Titanic! Good you managed the surgery without breaking stuff!
11. October, 06:32
Nathan Dempsey Clifford: I think I might tackle scribing an F-89. At least the wings are wide and flat.
Slavo: Yes it was a big let-down as I realized the gear were offset & that terrible cracking sound when the glue released. All is well though and hopefully I'll finish up sometime today.

Christian Kohl Nathan, you put a lot of work into this. You can tell that a good, realistic finish is very important to you. Fun to watch your jet grow ... !! Keep it up

Nathan Dempsey Thank you for your kind words Christian. A big help on the final push today
Well, she's officially finished, but since it is nearly 11PM here I'm too tired to pull out the photo booth, so I'll update everyone tomorrow with a "completed" album.
