So dash done.. side consoles done.. and despite the pictures looking blue, in rl its turquoise.

So bit more time at the bench between sleeping and napping (Trust me no one is more surprised than I at the amount of sleep I can manage)
This kit is lovely.. the parts fit with minimal messing around and I swear the way they have designed the fuselage to be built, you could hit someone with it and it would not buckle.. its a brick!
16. February, 01:36
Daniel
In as well! did the predecessor fly out of the window? 😄
16. February, 16:26
Augie
Hi Daniel, the first attempt is in the bin after I had enough of it and the utterly poor fit of just about everything. Welcome to the second attempt, I am sure the others will pass pop corn
16. February, 16:39
David Taylor
Looking good so don't bin it please.
16. February, 18:57
Pierre Vauthier
looks in good way no bin ! or if you have make it spectacular.
16. February, 19:00
Augie
Hi David, Pierre,

the first attempt was a kitty hawk build, this one is ICM's offering and is not for the bin
16. February, 19:03
Augie
So its together, just needs a couple of dabs of filler but nothing major at all.
16. February, 23:13
Augie
Wings on, and base coat put on just to see where fillers needed etc.. either way she is a sleek brick lol

Following! Looking great so far. Good that you have a better expierience with this kit. Have 2 versions of it in the stash and 2 in 1:72 so very interrested into seeing the final result.
18. February, 20:47
Augie
I've got 2 and 1 on its way, they are lovely kits.. so much better than the shitty hawk kit..
18. February, 21:50
James C
That was quick! Nice progress👍

Clifford Keesler
Looking good Augie. Hope you are healing well.
19. February, 22:21
Augie
Hi David, Clifford

Thanks guys, healing well as it happens 🙂
fairly quick build I guess, but she looks fairly decent I can honestly recommend these kits for those wanting a Mig-25.. I have another two lol..
20. February, 00:45
Clifford Keesler
I had heard they were pretty nice kits. I do need to get me a Mig-25 and Mig-31.
20. February, 03:54
Augie
So as uploaded yesterday, decals are started and I've done the wonderfully oddly pink sealant they use around the windows
21. February, 11:13
Palo M
How did you do the landing gear well? It looks like it's made of real metal.
21. February, 14:38
James C
Nice progress Augie, looking awesome 👍
21. February, 16:52
Augie
Thanks James 🙂 its been a fun build so I am glad she is coming out well.

Palo, I used AK True metal as a base, then before it had dried fully, I gave it a wash with Flory grime wash.
21. February, 17:54
Palo M
Thanks Augie! Will try it out some time too. Which shade of AK True metal did you choose?
21. February, 19:52
Augie
Hi Palo,

That was straight aluminium. I also gave it a coat of matt acrylic varnish which really knocked the shine down to normal levels
21. February, 21:19
Palo M
Thanks!
21. February, 22:53
Clifford Keesler
Looking very nice Aug's.
22. February, 20:07
Augie
Thanks Clifford, now 100's stencils to do.. hows the covid doing?
22. February, 21:25
Clifford Keesler
I think I am over it. Still get run down easy, but am feeling better every day. Getting in some bench time again.
23. February, 01:00
Augie
So.. it begins.. the marathon on stencils.. and boy this one has a lot.
23. February, 22:16
Clifford Keesler
Stencils and more stencils. Does it have as many as an F-4?
24. February, 03:51
Augie
i think more
24. February, 10:27
Clifford Keesler
Wow, that is a lot then.
25. February, 01:57
Augie
death by stencil.. and I've not even started on the otherside yet.
25. February, 22:07
David Taylor
Bigger plane,bigger stencil sheet.
25. February, 22:56
Roland Gunslinger
There are worse ways to die😉
25. February, 23:08
Augie
lol true enough, just always surprises me how many they have..
25. February, 23:40
Slavo Hazucha
The decals set on really nicely - and they appear to be quite of good quality - you can read one while waiting for the next to get wet😉
26. February, 11:07
Augie
Thanks Slavo,

They are really nice decals, they soak in about 15 seconds and go down with just a dab of sol needed.
Once they done, looking forward to getting some dirt on her, she's far too clean
26. February, 11:17
Clifford Keesler
There is no such thing as a "clean" Russian aircraft. LOL.
26. February, 21:30
Augie
Exactly Clifford.... exactly.. she's too clean at the moment
26. February, 21:48
Augie
So managed the other side in an evening..some top and bottom to do.
28. February, 22:22
Roland Gunslinger
Looks like they taped the newspaper to the plane every day so the ground crew had to read something while they waited.
28. February, 22:44
Augie
lol yeah makes ya wonder
28. February, 23:34
Slavo Hazucha
Some sources say it´s a traditional Russian open-ended game, not unlike chess, where red and blue maintenance teams continue to strategically place propaganda slogans to claim panels and sections of the plane...

Things like length, motivational content, and Party-rank of the Author of the quote also play a role in establishing the area claimed...😉

1. March, 09:41
Augie
Lol I really would not be suprised.
1. March, 10:00
David Taylor
Getting close to a splinter camouflage.
1. March, 10:40
James C
That's going to really pop once you've finished placing them all. Looks like you have enjoyed this ICM kit a hell of a lot more than the Kittyhawk offering as well. 👍
1. March, 17:27
Augie
Hi James 🙂 Yes the ICM kit is streets ahead of shittyhawks offering.
So much so I have ended up with another 2 (RB/PDS) in the stash ready to build.
1. March, 17:31
Augie
Weathering begins..
1. March, 23:44
Nathan Dempsey
Wow Augie that's looking nice! Glad I didn't totally miss out. Inspiring as usual. You always get me digging in the stash 🙂
2. March, 01:19
Ben M
That is an amazing amount of stenciling. The MiG looks great! Can't wait to see how it progresses as you weather it
2. March, 04:17
Clifford Keesler
Looking good dirtied up.
2. March, 04:33
Augie
So wash is done.. nose anti-glare was done.. but she got weathering rashed.. have some ideas on how to deal with it.. but over all she looks like a proper dirty MiG..
3. March, 00:05
Augie
Now she's a dirty girl.. sorted the anti-glare.. much better
3. March, 23:46
Clifford Keesler
Looking very nice Augie.
4. March, 03:13
Roland Gunslinger
That's a (dirty) beauty 👍
4. March, 07:10
Augie
Thanks guys, need to do some work on the metal work at the back, but I think over all, she's nearly done.
