Ok, its been a while, had some Modelling Blues on the way, but its back on my bench. Sorry, i didn't picture every Step on the way.
The Hull has its base colors and some weathering has started. But still a long way till its finished. Also the Inside has gotten some color.

My Hull is completed! 😄 the Inside compartment is almost finished, some Lights by LED will follow. The Base is made by someone else of our Group, which is coming together really nicely, as are the other Sections of the Boat.

Wow - massive and impressive 👍

Looks Great !! This is such a cool project. It inspired me to order the Revell 1/144 scale U-Boat Type XXI German Submarine w/Interior. I sure would like to build the big one, but just don't have room for such a monster! But the Revell kit will be something different and be a cool display.
Love your build, great group effort !! Cheers! 👍
29 August 2017, 06:35
Hanno Kleinecke
Wow, what an impressive piece of work, outstanding ! So you did not use the original kit hull as originally planned, and used the clear hull instead ?
29 August 2017, 06:58
Alexander Grivonev
beautiful paintjob and weathering!
29 August 2017, 07:19
Roger Lustenberger
Hi Robert! Thank you 🙂
@ Hanno: its all OotB. The Hull came as a full Plexi Piece for the Aft Section. The Other Sections are half Plexi and Half Plastic.
@ Alexander: thank you for the nice words 🙂
29 August 2017, 07:38
Holger Kranich
das is ja ein Sahneschnittchen!!!
29 August 2017, 09:53
Spanjaard
it looks fantastic for sure. almost museum piece.... looking forward seeing the complete thing.
although if i take the rivet counting approach, there should be a few more pipes and cables in the walls.... 😉
again, this is the rivet counting approach... i think it is looks glorious as it is now.
29 August 2017, 09:56
Roger Lustenberger
@ Holger: Ne Zuckersüsse 🙂
@Spanjaard: Thank you 😄 Yeah, those Rivets... lol😉 I Agree with the Pipelines and cables etc inside. Trumpeter did a good job with the details overall, but some parts are just really sloppy oder simply just missing, f.e. Torpedo doors front and rear are non existend, Figures are really sloppy and not in scale. The entire Boat (expect the Rear Part) is starboard side made from Clear Plexi and Port side Plastic. Except for the Tower / Command Center, where Port is Clear... ? Makes no sense. Fitting is excellent tho.
29 August 2017, 13:30
Spanjaard
oh, well, more opportunities for you to have fun😉 looking forward seeing the complete thing 🙂
29 August 2017, 13:48
Alberto Michieletto
Wow, Fantastic work!!!!
29 August 2017, 15:28
Christian Bruer
Very nice work 👍 What is about painting and weathering, is everybody of the group members doing it with his own paint and technique?
29 August 2017, 17:42
Roger Lustenberger
As a basic rule, we're using the colors given by the manual. But after that everyone can do as he likes. Some like it overdone, others clean and new... each section is an individual.
29 August 2017, 17:48
Roger Lustenberger
Added the Lights at my friends house, since i have no idea of electric what so ever... also a first glimps how the finishing Projekt will be.... yet only the neighbouring section is added. Ill add some details of the wiring later tonight.

Album info

This is going to be a Groupbuild of our Club. 6 People, each are building one section of the U-Boat. My Section is going to be Aft Torpedo Room with Electric Engines.

Beginning is around January '17, after all those 1100+ Parts are divided to the correct section and where the Hull is to be cut and fitted to a base.

The Idea is that we want to present the entire Uboat seperatly in each section, but moving those together, it becomes one piece.
