transplanted the Quickboost grip onto the Italeri stick (left) 

Italeri's instrument panel coaming - merely a joke in 1/32 compared to the original

all Airscale decals applied to the IPs 

more refinement done on the computer bay hatch (Archer rivets and some scratching)
the light bulb will be put in place after painting

brassin nozzle painted (alclad jet exhaust and pale burnt metal over steel - using a splatter template) 

washing with dark brown

Italeri on the right vs the correct videoaviation part in the middle.
Shortened one on the left to fit (the incorrect) Italeri wing 

corrected the too short wing 

shim added to fill the void between fuselage and aileron/flap

sprayed some MRP yellow - marvellous stuff! 

 

redid the wingtip tanks: upper side lightly faded vompared to the underside
much more even colourcoat 

black applied to codes and insignia - almost ready for camo!

Didn't spray as smoohly as I'd liked 

blended in with multiple coats.
All in all maybe a tad too dark 

 

 

Check for th upperside colour: RAL7012.
Pure MRP on the upper patch. Way too light and imho not lacking any bluish hue.
Added one third marking blue for the lower patch. Still a little bit too light compared to the underside colour.
Now what? 

Upper camo base
mixed from: 70% MRP basalt grey, 20% MRP marking blue and 10% Tamiya black

Some genius spilled paint onto the finished wing. Sanded and repainted black 

repaired

tail up close, I tried to keep the contrast between touch up and original paint low 

and some more stuff on the mid fuselage 

little teaser with the wingtip tanks and the radome painted 

necessary repairs where I spilled paint 

Although not perfect -the insignia and letters look okayish 

mask on for the ancor 

overall look without masks 

one more 

anchor painted - well 99% since the top wasn't cut properly 

almost forgot those tan panels 

 

gloss coat (tamiya X-22 with levelling thinner) is on 

decal example #1: silvering out of nowhere 

decal example #2: no silvering but slight melting (wth?) 

decal example #3: perfectly laid down 

underside completed and port side with 90% of the stencils 

more Tamiya gloss added to avoid more decal problems 

decals finally all on

wash applied - neutral grey for the lowers 

dark blue grey for the uppers 

just a subtle shadow - no dark trenches eh panel lines 

subtle wash as well

adding the tiptanks for contrast, seems much more okay
