They may be replicas of the official pace car or other models chosen for the parade. They may also be used to transport drivers and other VIPs in the parade. The pace car is the sole car leading the field on the final pace lap before the green flag.

Curtis Caden AuthorChristian W. The interior was spray painted with Tamiya TS-81 Light Royal Gray the seat inserts and door panels were masked and then it was painted with Tamiya TS-04 German Gray. All parts of the car were painted.

Curtis Caden AuthorChristian W you are correct about the bumper and headlight. I did try to paint the bumper attached and then tried to make the headlights work installing them from the front. I definitely realized my error when photographing the model. From my limited research blue was an option to the red for the anniversary edition. My theory is that if you want a model to turn out right you probably have to build two of them. The first one to figure it out and understand the meaning of the directions and the second one to do it right!

Christian WVery well described. I got this experience somehow with my built too (2002 Camaro SS | Project by christian-w (1:25)). On this I learned to read the instructions more careful than usual. Lesson learned.
Yours looks great in that nice bluemetallic. They decals fitting very good even better than of the red known example.

Curtis Caden AuthorHo Ko working with metal kits always brings their own issues. Hubley and JLE Scale Models have a lot of flash and I found a small 3" metal nail file worked really well cleaning the parts up and then I soaked them in vinegar which helps the primer bond to the metal. I was encouraged by a model railroad friend to build these cars and I had a lot of fun doing them.

Curtis Caden AuthorBen M thank you. The Atlantis models have been fun to build, simple and inexpensive. My only complaint is the scale sizes. I built according to directions which advised to not paint the outer skin of the aircraft and I do find it has a pleasing appearance.
