MiG-15 in a similar camouflage fought in Korea. 1953. Andun airbase. Had the markings of the Korean army and just did not have the Guard emblems. Do not rely on the internet. If there is a desire to build a future and the Soviet machine, my colleagues and I at the site Skalemodels.ru be happy to help. By the way the engine VC-1 looked like this
img15.nnm.me/1/c/c/0..ee59d8a4d5f110e29fb5.жпг
In 1984, I studied the military to repair the old MiG-15, a little familiar with this machine.
Overall, the model was very effective and visible. that made the master. Congratulations.

Nice Clifford! 👍 I especially like slide 10 with the overhead view of the engine. Just slide the fuselage on and ready to go! Congratulations on a great build.

Cliff, I just love the colour scheme, in fact, when I first saw it, I thought it was a wooden model. But I was totally wrong. The detail is simply stunning mate. Every bit of it says "Class". 🙂

Very nice! North Korea still has it in service. Saw a pic of Kim Yong in front of it last week...

Clifford Keesler
Thank you all. Matthias I did not know anyone was still flying them in active service. I am quite happy with the way the model turned out. I was a little skepictal when I read the initial kit reviews of the model. But with some aftermarket parts and a little work it was worth it. There will definetily be more in the future,as I have the 1/32 Scale Mig 17 !7PF Mig 19 Mig 21 and Mig 29 . And probally do a couple more Mig 15s. I was looking for something other than the usual silver finish.

The MiG-15 has long been out of operation, as well as the MiG-21. Last combat regiment of MiG-21 (CMT) based in Latvia and in 1991 was rearmed Trumpeter kit gives the wrong engine combustion chambers 8 instead of 9 and "twisted" they are in the other direction. The VK-1 nee called Rolls-Royce Nene and also had 9 cameras. Trumpeter - still a mass manufacturer, which affects the accuracy and adds to our work. Good luck to you Clifford.
If you need information on Soviet-made aircraft, ready to help.

According to official figures the military departments of the operators: in late 2005, the last of the countries of Albania, exploited the MiG-15 aircraft of this type are removed from service. According to others, a small number of aircraft may still be in operation in China and North Korea. About 20 MiG-15 were purchased at different times of individuals in the US and Europe. Years of production of the MiG-15: 1947 - 1950, the MiG-15bis: 1950 - 1952
MiG-15UTI: 1950 - 1959. If a picture MiG-15 bis, he is at least 62 years of age.
By the way the engine ВК-1 was produced until 1958 and had a life of 250 hours.

Aside from all the blah blah, you have produced one of the nicest Migs I have ever seen, In fact, when I first saw it, I thought it was a wooden carved model. Just stunning mate. well done 🙂

7 February 2015, 21:03

Thank you Bill. Yes it was a nice kit,not at all the dog I had read it was. The Eduard Detail set really sets it off.
8 February 2015, 17:07
Clifford Keesler
It was a nice kit actually. I was kind of worried about it, as I had read a lot of bad things about it. But it really went well. I will be doing another. I have the Mig 17s also all three of them.

24 July 2015, 12:35

And in this album, he gives a lesson to guys (like me) that don't know "nothing" about the simplicity of the old Migs. Showing that engine and the colour finish and the battered look got it All 👍
24 July 2015, 12:39
Gareth Windsor
The Migs had British built Rolls Royce engines too apparently which upset the Americans.
24 July 2015, 12:46
Rui S
It upset all the right wing in the Houses of Parliament too, because it was an on-going discussion and when the labours took the power, they decide to sell a very good hidden secret of an extraordinary British concept, to the communists. And they did a really good use of that in Corea?, against the American planes. Needless to say that the British did really regretted that afterwards. 🤔

I was just stumbling around looking for your Phantom Clifford, (still not sure which one 🙂 )
and I stumbled on this wee jewel again,
worth a another bump I reckon seeing as you did such a good job on it 😄
24 February 2016, 21:04
Clifford Keesler
Thanks mate, She really did turn out well. And everything I had read on the kit said it was such a dog. I have challenges ahead as I have 3 different versions of the Mig-17 and the 2 seat Mig-15, now to do them justice. The F-4 I am building is the Academy F-4B VF-111. It's on here somewhere. Cheers.
24 February 2016, 21:09
Choppa Nutta
Somewhere ..... swimming in the ether lol 😄

No doubt I'll stumble across it in due course 🙂

Thanks again Kerry. I was thinking yesterday, of giving another one a go after the F-4.
25 February 2016, 20:26
Gareth Windsor
Ooooo, nice idea. "The Chace". I may have to use that idea with a Korean Mig and a Seafury.
25 February 2016, 21:20
Kerry COX
A fantastic idea Gareth 🙂, as I do like great aircraft in pairs, and while your building the next Mig, I will be doing two F-4E's in Aussie colours as soon as my bench has a gap. !! 🙂 👍
