My kit lacked a seat, so I had to modify some Amodel leftovers.
Cockpit ready for sealing.
Lots of filling aterial is needed.
Sanding & filling & sanding & filling & sanding & filling & sanding & filling...
The front gear is better than the original indeed, but desn't really look like a fork though.
Next time I'm gonna rework the plastic part I think.

So the main undercarriage is not worth it IMHO - there is a seam and there are no rivets, also the wheel disc alignment needs correction.
Plastic parts have the sinkholes indeed, but it's easier to fill it that to sand the metal parts.

Started rescribing the wings.
Still some corrections are needed.
And found some Kibri leftovers in my sparebox.
So, decided to put them in use.
And got me some reading material for even more inspiration 🙂
Used some P-36 leftovers to create the missing vents. The funny thing is the lower one is shown in some views in the instructions 😄
Ready for painting
Started some spraying.
The wing struts are too short. The wings should have 3 degree dihedral. With these struts all I can get is anhedral 🙁
So I checked whether I haven't mounted the main undercarriage too low, but well, not.
Then it turned out the right wing fits ok.
Here's the answer - wings are not symmetrical 🙁
Removed that while thinking of the left strut.
Filled the left strut and left wing joint a bit with CA glue and here we go! Bit bigger that I thought tbh 🙂
Sprayed the black and the the blue.
First layer of white surfacer - the fuselage keeps cracking on top, I have to find a fix for that 🙁
It's a rainy day today, so I sprayed the white part and removed the masking.
There are few corrections needed, but I'm glad with the result.
That raster is disappointing 🙁
Seems like the plus of 26decals is their flexibility 👍
On her own wheels! 🙂
Added the PE wipers
The props are there finally.
The smoke is too grainy for my taste and I found the missing underside light. Apart from that it seems complete.

Łukasz GlińskiWelcome, still hoping this dream will not become a nightmare, even though it's close. I spent last couple of days on sanding and filling.
Next time I'm gonna use only the transparent part from Aerocraft, the rest is simply not worth it. They should release a windshield set only IMHO.

Gordon SørensenThe omtales do look a little more rounded on the resin replacements. Might be the Black paint hiding it on the originals, though.
Interesting method of molding the props. I hope the attachment point/Line come off nice and clean.
Had been looking at the gear legs too, but after watching your work, will put off getting any.

Łukasz GlińskiWell, the legs needed a lot of primer to look smooth enough. The inlets, props and spinners are too similar for me to take care 😄 So I will either sell them or use them for another kit in the future.

Łukasz GlińskiYeah, I bought a basic Revell riveter some time ago and haven't used it yet. On the other hand the rivets are barely visible on the real thing, so I should focus more on masking probably 😉

Loganair on the other hand washed the Barra planes after every flight to remove salt, so I decided to skip the imitation of dirty riveting, thanks for your say folks 👍

Łukasz GlińskiSo, I added all the missing bits and pieces (some inlets, outlets and aerials). Taking break for 2 weeks and then it will be time for painting. I'm leaning towards less orthodox approach - first the dark colours (less masking) and then white overall. Still haven't decided whether to assemble the wings before or afterwards.

Ben MarshallStunning job on this so far. I agree that the majority of the Aerocraft additions don't really add much to the build, with the exception of the windscreen.. If I were them I'd be releasing that on it's own, perhaps with a set of aerials and inlets/outlets instead—would be much more useful! If my build of this turns out a fraction as good as yours is so far I'll be very happy indeed. Great stuff!

Ben MarshallOoh question for you! I noticed you haven't installed the cabin windows before sealing. I've done the same—was intending to use Krystal Klear to make the windows. Some tests however haven't been promising, they came out a bit wobbly and recessed. What are your plans?

Łukasz GlińskiThanx Ben. Some of them are Kristal Klear, others were made with the Bondic UV glue. The trick with Kristal Klear is the following: make them a tad bulbous, it shrinks later on and position it upside down so it doesn't flow sideways. If it is too bulbous you can iteratively wash it down after drying too. Then I seal it with multiple thin lacquer varnish layers, so they are waterproof enough to decal the kit Hope it helps.

I know the kit - i have some of this kits from revell (reissue: DHC-6 Twin Otter (Revell 04901, 1:72)) because i like the TwinOtter as a typical bush plane with many beautiful colourings in my opinion. I find the kit itself....not so good; i am currently building one myself for several weeks.

Łukasz GlińskiThanks. The only advantage of the resin sets is the windshield. The front windows of the kit are to narrow. But this can be fixed with a bit of transparent styrene 👍

Michael KohlA very nice livery. I am happy that I decided against the metal gear as I came to the same conclusion. The props do make a difference and allow you to put them in a feathered position. Some hurdles you cleared are still ahead of me. Air Greenland is my choice.
