Following. Maybe it's TT 1:120? 😛
There are seemingly multiple interpretations of having fun 😉 But nice to see that an old kit being build. Courage 👍
Well ... I do have fun with these old kits ... kits are meant to be built .... don't they ?
1:100, Yikes! I'm struggling to see the parts on the 1:72 MiG I'm working on now.
I'm rather shocked about the big difference in size between Tamiya and VEB kits so I checked both against good references ... and the result is rather odd ...
VEB kit is spot on in lenght and span ..... Tamiya kit is grossly overscale in length (1/89 scale) and span (1/92) .... so even the VEB kit is more crude , lacks a lot of details and some details are pure phantasy ,,,, is spot in scale
Wow, that's very surprising indeed 😮

Engine looks great!
Very nice! How did you paint the wires?
István , with a number 0 brush , Gunze flat red and carefulnes. Some red paint went to the engine and I had to make some retouching....
Thank you, Julian!
Following! Very interesting subject. I really do like the 917. Part breakdown of the body looks very similar to the fujimi kit wich also spots some fitting issues. The heller kit seems to have Daytona window not opened? (The one over the windshield)
Dennis ... me too ... I love the 917 ... The kit has this window marked from the inside but not opened .... You can cut the part ... but the kit (at least mine) has no clear part for that window.
Thats an improvement imho. I think you will not need it anyway because there where not many cars with that configuration (as far as I know).
Tried to build the fujimi 917k once and had major problems in filling and sanding the gaps of the plastic insert for that window. Even after primer, base color decal and clear coat the outlines where still visible. One of the reasons it ended up as a shelf queen...

I struggled a bit getting this thing together I remember. 😄
I like taking out the two batteries when I am not using the drill, to avoid, maybe draining the batteries, but now that I think about it, maybe it doesn't matter much, unsure.
I prefer a hand operated drill for precision, because of the risk of drilling too hard through plastic with the electrical motor.
I'm very pleased with this tool .... has he right speed for plastic ... Of course for precision drilling I prefer manual tools. I had no problems assembilng the drill ... much easier that Ikea furniture 😉
An 1/8" collet will juuussst fit and allow the use of a mini three-jaw chuck. I love mine, it's the perfect speed.

As soon as I saw it in the shop I knew I had to buy it .. and build it asap. In fact it didn't even went to the stash ... went from the shop right to my workbench.
The kit is rather basic in some aspects ... no fuel tank, simplistic fuel filler cap, no clear plastic for the head-lamps .... Nevertheless the engine is quite detailed, but a some tubes and connectors missing. In fact some tubes are on the sprues but not in the instructions ,,, more anon.
Beware, gates to some parts are really tiny and prone to break ... I've just lost one windshield wiper ...
Congratulations. Not an easy kit to deal with. If we wan`t to make it better our imagination is the limit . I did mine a few years ago and I`m still looking for the right side rear view miror.
I also made one, and I think it's a very fun kit.
The orange color seems to go very well 🙂
Yes ... the kit is really fun to build ... no major build troubles ... What's shocking for such a moder kit is all the parts it lacks ..... headlights glass it's just a flagrant missing
Oh, I agree. Headlights are clumsy.

A styrene fillet on a Tamiya kit!! Anyway, welcome and following!
nice start, count me in
Erik ,,, this cloud be my fault ... I've seen in the i'net that most modellers glue this piece after wings have been glued ... no big deal anyway
Finished by the skin of my teeth ,,,, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all
Similar story to my Gnat😉 Congrats and Happy New Year too.

Old bike, old model. I'm curious to see what it'll look like.
I like old kits too, watching.
Watching! Who can refuse a vintage red stripe version of a Beezer 250? One of my very first builds, 40 something years ago......... I'm in
Ahh looking good! 👍
