....... daylight with a backdrop 👍 lovely 🙂

Kerry COX
This image is from the Zoukei-Mura web site Choppa, and I have posted it as the introductory image for those who first look in on the build, so that it is immediate, what a He-219 is.
BTW, Vegard Petersen will be doing the same build with me, as he is getting one soon, and I am waiting on mine to arrive from Japan too.
19 July 2015, 00:50
Camilla Øksenholt
Awesome! I'm excited to check out the kit from Zoukei-Mura, and even more excited to watch you guys building them! 😄 Have you tried some of the other Zoukei-Mura kits before, or just the beautiful Ho 229 you built? 🙂
19 July 2015, 02:17
Choppa Nutta
sounds awesome, no doubt another fine pair of models. From the photo the kit looks awesome 🙂
19 July 2015, 02:21
Kerry COX
I have the "Skyraider" that was a gift from ZM for the use of the images of the Ho-229, but that is still in the box at the moment, part finished.
19 July 2015, 03:52
John E
@Kerry: It's nice that you're so talented that you're getting gifts. 😉 And after seeing your Ho-229, I'd say the gift is extremely well deserved! Good luck with the He 219!
19 July 2015, 04:10
Kerry COX
Thank you John E. I have been wanting to get hold of this for a long time now, and as my finances recently improved, I took the plunge. 🙂
Thanks for your good luck wishes mate. 🙂
19 July 2015, 05:10
Augie
Wow.. ok I thought that was a real one!

Looking forward to it. German nightfighters of WWII are my stuff!
19 July 2015, 09:48
Choppa Nutta
.... err what happened to the daylight picture ???
may we have that one back please ? 🙂
19 July 2015, 13:02
Mathias Carl
Uuuh, my most favourite german WWII plane.
I´m looking forward to this build, as I´m sure that it´ll be as excellent as your Go 229. 🙂
19 July 2015, 13:06
Vegard Øksenholt
Looking forward to do this build with you, Kerry 😄
19 July 2015, 14:02
Kerry COX
Patience all my Grasshoppers. Just count your fingers for a short time and some fantastic images will start appearing here from Vegard and me. 🙂
You see, we are going to be doing a group build since I found out he is getting one as well. 🙂
19 July 2015, 14:22
Kerber
Ha, another masterpiece on the horizon. I'm following.. 😉
20 July 2015, 07:07
Kerry COX
You speak with such authority and confidence Kerber.
I will try to not disappoint you. LOL 🙂
20 July 2015, 07:44
Thomas Mayer
Will watch this one for sure, my friend! Kezza, hope you will find some time to start it soon! 😉
20 July 2015, 11:07
Kerry COX
I am jumping out of my skin here waiting for it to arrive mate. I have my desk all cleared and everything ready.
LOOK OUT !! LOL 🙂
20 July 2015, 11:23
Holger Kranich
Aha, ladies and gents, the next Zokei-Mura build is waiting for us to happen!
This reminds me of my stash and the Revell offering in it...
I hope you can start soon, Kerry!👍
20 July 2015, 11:30
Hunter Cummins
Heck yea!!! Counts me in!!
20 July 2015, 11:41
Kerry COX
Holger, I will be getting started as soon as it arrives from Japan, and when that will be is all in the laps of the Gods mate. :-/
Vegard Pedersen is waiting on his to arrive from Japan as well and we will be doing a group build with them. 🙂
Holger, Do you have a revel kit of the Ohu. ?
20 July 2015, 11:42
Holger Kranich
Oh cool, such a GB will become interesting regarding the different approaches of you both!

Yep, i have this here at home:
scalemates.com/kits/133648-revell-04666-he-219-a-7-uhu
20 July 2015, 12:24
Kerry COX
How cool it would be if we all got to do the build here with our kits. 🙂
What do you say ?
20 July 2015, 12:36
Rui S
The stakes are very high with that photo n. 2 😮 Good luck, mates 😉
20 July 2015, 12:42
Hunter Cummins
I wish I could join, but I dont have one, mabey I can get one !!!!!
20 July 2015, 12:44
Hunter Cummins
Willca 1/48 scale one pass?? Any reccomendations?
20 July 2015, 12:45
Soeren R.
Count me in!
I love this plane and looking really forward to see this project!!
If I had the skill to make this camo, probably my Dragon kit would be already on my desk 🙂
20 July 2015, 12:50
Christian Meyerhoff
This will be pure fun!
BTW: Do You know this one?

valiant-wings.co.uk/..e-album-no1-25-p.asp

I will use it as a reference for my Tamiya UHU. It`s a very good book.
20 July 2015, 12:55
Kerry COX
I have never done a "Group Build" and I don't know how it is organized, but maybe Holger could pass on some words of wisdom and conduct the whole thing. :-/
Any scale I believe Hunter.
Soeren, do you have one. ?
Bear in mind guys.
This is not happening straight away, as some of us are in the processes of getting their kits and some may want to buy one to join in. 🙂
Rui, where are you going to be ?
20 July 2015, 12:59
Soeren R.
Not this one, only the Dragon kits in 1/72.
Didnt you realized yet that I only build 72? 😛
20 July 2015, 13:05
Kerry COX
I am gently encouraging you to go a little bigger. lol Didn't you realise that. Ha ha ha ha ha 🙂 👍.
20 July 2015, 13:10
Soeren R.
😄 I did but wont happen with that kind of stash I have😉
20 July 2015, 13:13
Kerry COX
Christian, I just looked at the link.................wow, what a great book, and it looks similar to the "Concept notes" that ZM produce for their kits.
quite stunning.
20 July 2015, 13:16
Holger Kranich
Uhuhuhuuuu, that would be a very spontanous GB!
Maybe a ´lil bit too spontanous for some of us...? But i like the basic idea! Building the same aircraft in different scales from different manufracturers, this would open a brand new horizon!!!
20 July 2015, 13:21
Soeren R.
I really like this idea!
20 July 2015, 13:24
Kerry COX
Holger, like I just said, It will be a while before mine arrives, and it will give us time to get ready with our respective kits.
I could be waiting for an other month before I see my kit, and I think Vegard is in the same boat.
So, I feel that it could be a great GB, and where else are we all going to be in a month. ?
What do you think gents and women folk. ?
🙂
20 July 2015, 13:28
Hunter Cummins
I say lets do it!!!
20 July 2015, 13:31
Soeren R.
I would say yes too, but dont sure if my painting skills are already good enough for the mottle camo in 72.
20 July 2015, 13:34
Kerry COX
Hunter, I agree. 🙂But we will have to set dates and keep tabs on the project, and who knows, like Holger said.
This will be something unique and grand. 🙂 👍
20 July 2015, 13:36
Hunter Cummins
Well you can make an official scalemates group build 😄
20 July 2015, 13:37
Kerry COX
Is there a way of creating a specific "common album" that we can all contribute to. ? Posting images of our progress with added text capabilities.?
20 July 2015, 13:38
Holger Kranich
In a month or so? Hmmm, that sounds not bad... The Uhu was not scheduled for me this year but, phuck, why not?
I know the weak points of my kit, have enough time to order paints (and we all know that we need a huge amount of paint for this beauty) and i can think about how to make a Torpedobomber of it... LOL 😄

Ok, i think i´m in but lets discuss it again when time and kits are ready!👍
20 July 2015, 13:39
Hunter Cummins
Kery, when youmake a group build here, when you make the photo album, it connects it to the group build page automatically
20 July 2015, 13:41
Kerry COX
Good news Holger.🙂 Good on ya mate. 🙂 Should we ask Tim for some advice on how we could have a dedicated album for all of us to drop our posts/images in for all to see. ?
Or would it all come under the heading of "Projects" ?
20 July 2015, 13:42
Rui S
Hi Kezza, I will be following from Sagres hehehe. But I'm already learning how this thing of a "Group Build" comes alive and I'm enjoying a lot, Always learning.
@ Holger, Interesting how the mates very spontanous acceded to this idea and the way this will "open a brand new horizon". Very Interesting indeed. Same subject different scales, brands and modellers 👍 Congratulations to you all, and to the SWS06 He 219 A-0 Uhu 😄
20 July 2015, 14:09
Holger Kranich
I can create a "Group Build" event. If we give our albums the same name as the groupbuild event, it will show up there.
20 July 2015, 14:15
Holger Kranich
You can sign up here for the GB:

He-219 "Uhu" Groupbuild (13. September, )
20 July 2015, 14:48
Rui S
Hehehe, I think eBay auctions on this subject will be very disputed now 😄
20 July 2015, 14:56
Christian Meyerhoff
Ok Mates I`m in.
20 July 2015, 19:15
Kerry COX
We are now "Flying" Yahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!
That is just fantastic, and I never doubted it for a minute.🙂
Holger, your my champion my friend.
Thanks for this. 🙂
HAPPY DAYS EVERYONE. !
20 July 2015, 21:39
Vegard Øksenholt
👍 👍 👍
20 July 2015, 22:02
Kerry COX
👍 👍 👍 too. 🙂
20 July 2015, 23:45
Holger Kranich
Now volunteer everybody and welcome Vegard and Christian!
This will become a great day!😄
21 July 2015, 06:36
Soeren R.
Its really awesome to have such a community 🙂 If this works well, I would say that we do stuff like this more often😉
21 July 2015, 06:38
Holger Kranich
I´m with you, Soeren!
21 July 2015, 06:40
Hunter Cummins
Im in !!!
21 July 2015, 06:56
Soeren R.
Nice 🙂 Ive now everything together for my project.
Now I only need to wait for everything to arrive 🙂
21 July 2015, 07:53
Wim van der Luijt
Hmmmmm....let me see if I can find one in time to join in....
21 July 2015, 08:15
Kerry COX
Wim, It will (I hope) be at least a month before I am ready as I am waiting for my kit to come from ZM, and this GB was just an idea 2 days ago and it sounds like some are all just about finished, and the same with some other participants, so it would be really nice if we all kicked off at the same time instead of some trying to catch up and others way ahead of the game.
21 July 2015, 08:26
Kerry COX
Please, just be patient with this thing OK ? 🙂
21 July 2015, 08:27
Soeren R.
I think its a good point from Kerry.
We should really start all together and yes some will finish theír kits in a few days and other in a few months, but the starting point should be the same for all 🙂
Btw. I also have to wait for some aftermarket stuff before I can start my Uhu 🙂
21 July 2015, 08:29
Kerry COX
Soeren, Thanks for that understanding mate. And the ZM kits can take many months to complete as well, and the smaller scale units wont be as demanding I should imagine.
Like I said. This was just an idea less than a day ago, and now your all grabbing for the glue gun and racing off somewhere.
SETTLE DOWN. !!!!!
21 July 2015, 08:40
Soeren R.
If I look at my "building speed" even the 72 Dragon kit will take at least 3-4 months 😛
21 July 2015, 08:42
Kerry COX
I always thought that a group build meant that we all start at the same time and we all do the same thing at the same time, I should imagine we will all finish at the same time, as it's NOT a competition. :-/
21 July 2015, 08:51
Holger Kranich
No this is not a competition! Ist all about doing it together, sharing info and thought about the "Uhu". And ist not about how fast we build😢
21 July 2015, 09:51
Soeren R.
Couldnt agree more Holger 🙂
21 July 2015, 09:54
Kerry COX
Exactly what I imagined it would be like guys, just plodding along, all on the same page and getting heaps of enjoyment out of it. 🙂 🙂 🙂 👍
I have never seen such a positive reaction to a suggestion like this in all my forum touring days. !!! 🙂
21 July 2015, 10:11
Soeren R.
😢 I know what you mean Kerry and Im really happy to see this here 🙂
21 July 2015, 11:04
Kerry COX
That is very reassuring to see your positive comments Soeren, and for you it will be a great bonding with all the other modellers who are going to be involved, and like I said to you before, your skill level is way past the beginner stage as your just a 'natural' at modelling, mainly because the interest in it is more like a passion.
21 July 2015, 11:14
Soeren R.
True I think you can call my interest in aircrafts kind of a passion😉 I think this is easy to see in my current stash 😛 😛 😛

But after only 3 kits (ok the and a half 🙂 ) I dont what else I should be.
21 July 2015, 11:16
Kerry COX
You seem to be struggling with what you can identify with, such as, 1/72 is little, so little mistakes, and 1/48, more to do and store.
As for a stash, I don't believe in them, as I would be always putting off building something because, "It would shrink my stash". !!!! and I would sooner look at my stash as a bunch of built models I can look at instead of imagining what they would look like in 20 years time.
The decals become as brittle as dry hay, the plastic gets brittle too.
I have never had a collection of models in my storage area, I just buy what I am going to build right there and then.
You take what steps you feel comfortable with Soeren, but somewhere along the track, you will feel like doing something different, that's modelling.
🙂 👍
21 July 2015, 12:06
Rui S
For a long time I build dozens of 1/72 vehicles and planes, but then came that Airfix 1/32, 250 "Greif", and from then on I never felt again the urge of doing 1/72. I never tried a 1/48, but again don't fill into it so I love 1/35 or 1/32 and I will sick to it, as you can see in my satch.
Kezza, I don't give a dam if the decals or plastic get brittle Because for me modelling is overcame the difficulties the materials, ideas (and old age now) impose to you.😉
That's why I like scratch and OOB, and I don't buy PE or resin aftermarket. 🤔
This group build did really tented me but I'm a noob compared to you mates, and now I see a race to buy after market and things, and stuff. and time schedule for ending?, Naahhh. It is getting a bit demoralising for me... 🙁
We all like modelling, but we are different modeller's with different skill, speed and level's so the paces are also different.
Anyway that's modelling, it will be interesting to see, and lot's to learn. 👍
21 July 2015, 12:38
Soeren R.
Rui if you are a "noob" what should I be then? 🙂 Even if you are a noob, with what I dont agree, you should still particapte in this groupbuild! It isnt really about getting the best kit in the end and win a price! Its more about companionship and have fun together!
Even there is not "end-date". Everybody is finishing his kit when he can 🙂
21 July 2015, 13:07
Rui S
Agreed, FUN for every attendant and spectator 👍
A "noob" is a manner of saying, Soeren, compared with some of the finest modeller's here in saclemates😉
21 July 2015, 13:15
Soeren R.
I know what you mean with that Rui, but you are also a really gread modeller!
Look at your really nice dioramas 🙂
Btw. Im also a "noob" and I attend to this groubbuild, so dont leave me hanging as the only "noob" here 🙂
21 July 2015, 13:17
Soeren R.
Indeed we are😉
21 July 2015, 13:53
Rui S
@ Soeren, LoolLL, thx for your nice words 😄 I've one month to decide that😢
@Guido, that's part of the FUN😉
21 July 2015, 14:13
Holger Kranich
Let me say how overwhelmed i am, that this Group build idea got so dynamic!
21 July 2015, 14:22
Holger Kranich
And i agree with Guido! The excitement grows in me!😄
21 July 2015, 14:23
Kerry COX
Ahem............can I say something ??? Please ??
Guido, I love your comment about no plastic has shown up yet. LOL🙂
And Holger's big dynamic smile at the bottom here. 🙂
This has got to go down in history for Scalemates that here we all are setting the pace, rules, sizes, the start and finish. !! :-O and it's not even a competition !! 🙂
I hope that you will all be this enthusiastic about what is proposed here by the time we all have in our hot little hands all the things needed for the build and not grow impatient and get all upset because nothing is happening because some of us are still waiting for our items to arrive. :-/
This will be a great "Grasshopper" environment in time, learning, listening and skills development along with moments of joy and disappointment when things don't, or do, go right.
I never, in my wildest dreams, imagined that just an idea could have such an immediate and powerful effect.
I am so pleased to see so many people of all different scale and skill levels all talking to each other with such an easy mind set.
It may sound strange, but the whole world will be watching this and Scalemates will reap the rewards by seeing many more modellers want to join the best dammed forum on the net.
There is a lot riding on this build, so lets have fun before, during and after.
Cheers, and thanks for coming along for the ride. 🙂 👍

21 July 2015, 16:37
Soeren R.
And its hopefully not the only groupbuild/event! There are so many other objects to build like ground vehicle, ships etc...
So it hasnt even really started yet 😛

And I agree to 100% with Kerry 🙂
21 July 2015, 16:43
Holger Kranich
Kerry, you speak right out of my heart! Well said, buddy!😄
21 July 2015, 16:48
Kerry COX
Soeren, that is a good point you make, and look at it this way too.
If we make a success of this GB, it will set the standard for any future builds, no matter what the subject.
So, we gotta get it right.
Do you agree. ?
21 July 2015, 16:49
Soeren R.
Agree!
21 July 2015, 16:50
Kerry COX
Thank for your support and comments here my friend.🙂
21 July 2015, 16:53
Kerry COX
Holger, thanks for your warm words my friend. 🙂
21 July 2015, 17:02
Holger Kranich
Always a pleasure especially with this spontanous gb! Sounds like fun all the way!🙂
21 July 2015, 17:39
Hunter Cummins
Agree!!
21 July 2015, 17:41
Holger Kranich
Very cool link!
21 July 2015, 17:49
Kerry COX
Yes, At the moment, I am everywhere on the net to see what there is that is 'different' about the "Owl" 🙂
It seems that the Eduard parts for it will be almost exactly the same as the ZM ones.
But then again, Eduard make the pe stuff for ZM anyway. :-/

Wuhu (😉) Kerry, my friend. Nice to know you gonna build this iconic night hunter
12 June 2020, 21:29
Augie
soo gonna to watch..
12 June 2020, 21:33
Kerry COX
Sorry to disappoint you all but this beast died an indignant death quite some time ago when I decided to strip the cammo paint job because of the botched effort, but it still had some problems with all the internal gun and magazine assembly. 🙁
I should have deleted this album a long time ago.
12 June 2020, 21:42
Augie
nooo.. nothing is beyond salvage!.. I has every faith

Augie
Noo, nothing it beyond salvage.. I have every faith
12 June 2020, 22:04
Kerry COX
The Owl has flown the coup Augie. And thankfully I didn't have to pay for it originally, as it was a gift from Zoukie Mura for the build I did of the wood grain Ho-229, so no big loss really.
But I am still looking for more space to put something as big as the Uhu, as they were one of the better beasts the Germans came up with amongst all the other strange birds they produced. 🙂
12 June 2020, 23:59
Clifford Keesler
That is a bummer, it sure looked good.
13 June 2020, 00:10
Kerry COX
Clifford. All the images on that page were of the ones posted on the Zoukie Mura web site of the Uhu that had all ready been built by them.
All the work done by me on this group build are here.

@Kezza, sory i've revived this painful issue for you, it was not the intention.
You may remmember, at the time I've loaded a lot of info on my MT1 álbum, and end up buying the Revel 1/32 kit. Not very expensive and a great biiggg kit still in my stash.
13 June 2020, 12:19
Kerry COX
Rui. Not a drama mate. 🙂 🙂 🙂
One consolation is that I still have the nose weight to remember it by. hahahahahahaha 😉
Besides, I am still struggling with finding enough room for what I still haven't built and what I am currently building, short of buying a new display case. !
And after my little medical episode, I am now wondering just how many models and how much stuff I have that will have to find a new home if I do shuffle off this mortal coil.. :-/
The ZM build was a lot of fun from the point of view that ZM did give you so much more detail to stuff around with. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Now I have many more distractions to play with. Now I have become hooked on the ICM kits. ! O-O

13 June 2020, 13:51

Album info

As of yet, I have not received the kit from Japan, but I am doing as much research as possible on it so that I can work on this fantastic kit with a degree of comfort.
I will be doing this build in Tandem with Vegard Petersen, and he will be assisted by his partner Camilla.
This build will be meticulously recorded and posted here.
