Academy EF-111
Reinforced the front fuselage with sprue to prevent flexing and to strengthen the front/rear fuselage join.
Evergreen strips added to strengthen the front / rear fuselage join.
Completed front/rear fuselage join.
Additional reinforcement added to the wing/fuselage area. Decided to complete the model with the wings in the fully extended position and eliminated the swing mechanism.
Detailing the vents on the top of the fuselage with Evergreen strips.

Primed with Mr Surfacer 1500. Mr Surfacer 1500 black used for pre-shading.

Thinned 60/40 with Mr Color Leveling thinner.

Decals are from Caracal. Tamiya dark gray and black panel line wash. Blending with mineral spirits and a cotton swab.
Experimenting with Alclad Jet Exhaust, Tamiya smoke and Gunze transparent blue.
Panel wash on upper surfaces completed.

I opted to have the wings fully extended, so I eliminated the swing mechanism. Figured the screws would be more sturdy than glue.

I wish I had thought to do that with the sprue. Could have helped eliminate the God awful step I dealt with. Good job. 🙂
