Mina RoIt really baffles the mind as to why Tamiya chose not to include the basic interior from the original M113 or the Acav kits. It would of fit in this kit as its essentially the same mold. A really poor release because of that.

gorbyTamiya is falling behind other companies when it comes to detail. The 1/48 Austin K2 was on my wishlist until I found that inside the back is completely empty. Even the 1969 1/76 Airfix kit had an interior.

Mina Ro AuthorI agree, one thing that always bugged me after I matured was just how low detail their figures are and I always noticed that their figures seemed to be more of a 1/32 scale because DML/Dragon figures were always a tad smaller so they were never compatible together in a diorama or build. Its sad because some of the new Tamiya kits are nice externally but if they want to compete they are going to have to get new figure artists and they are going to have to start making more vehicles with at least a bare interior.
The prices are also a bit to high given the lack of detail when compared to some of the competition.

Mina RoAnyone have an opinion on this companies 1/35 tank kits? I see them cheap in a few places. Is the parts and detail good? I was curious about them because they make some Jagdtigers and others.

Mina RoI have heard bad things about mistercraft and they are a hit and a miss and just remolds of older kits. In my opinion their decals always include a ton of options but the mistercraft decals are the thinnest I have ever seen and they easily disintegrate even with extra care so thats one bad flaw. The bad thing about this one is that the rear cabin is basic and lacks the sonar operator station. I wish a lot of UH-1 kits had better interiors. For years many of them were lacking the m60 door guns or other details. This one will need some sort of scratch built station or aftermarket parts that probably do not exist. Sadly it looks like Italeri had a 1/48 scale ASW version planned in 2017 but it was never released.

Mina Ro AuthorI do stay away from them. I got fooled by their F-84 kit and then found out it was a bad re-issue and as I said before. The decal sheet basically disintegrated in water and was useless. I was just commenting on how bad these kits are when I saw this kit advertised on my wall.

Mina Ro AuthorThe kit gets a lot of things right. Before this kits release it had callouts in the pre-release of the kit for inaccurate items but those were corrected in the instructions on release. The only 2 things that are inaccurate in the callouts is the small muzzle break but the correct large muzzle break is included. Also the callout for 3 antennas when you should only use the right and center antenna because command Tigers only used 2 radios. Also there is debate on the loaders hatch but both the long hinge version and the cut back version is included. This is a very accurate kit and it includes all parts to make a historically accurate version of his last tiger or the other 3 he commanded in Normandy. I highly recommend it.

Mina Ro AuthorJust got this kit off Mercari dirt cheap. Went ahead and gathered all the extras from Super-hobby. I was happy to see that LF models had the paint masks. I have really loved their camouflage masks for other builds. Its really easy to do luftwaffe splinter camo on planes with just masking tape and have before but I went ahead and got the mask set for this plane because it was cheap. I will start on this one at a later date. Getting my 7 foot tall display case built and installed in my home comes first before any of my models suffer from dust damage.

Mina RoTrumpeter really is lousy when it comes to their BRDM 2 kits. This version is missing all of the radios that this version should have inside. All Trumpeter did was provide the same lame basic interior of the other 2 kits. I really dislike when a company slacks off like this. If your going to produce multiple versions, include the damn parts specific to that version. Big thumbs down on this kit. Aside from that its about time that they also stopped being lazy with their instructions and give the modeler information on the decals included and lack of paint callouts for everything but the exterior. Hobby boss is guilty of this too. For the prices paid they need to do better.

Mina RoI wish eduard would re-release a ton of their out of print masking sets. I search everywhere online and these are nowhere to be found. Very frustrating. Its as bad as old upgrade sets from Cobra company. anyone know where I can get this set? Even cutting edge's version is MIA.
