Danny RayI've just bought some double sided tape to do something similar but looking at your jig , I could've used normal tape upside down but taped into place in a couple of places. Is that what you did there Robert?

Robert H. AuthorI use Tamiya masking tape, it doesn't leave for sure any adhesive residue on the plastic surface, and yes, the small tape pieces are just for fixing of the large piece. Also the plastic angles on the cutting mat are fixed with CA glue

Rui SI´ve lot's of Humbrol tins (hundreds, old and recent). I really like them and I still use them a lot. Thank you for sharing 👍
I've also some tamiyas and one vallejo primer 😄

Danny RayI must admit when I was a kid all we had was humbrol enamels in the tins (I still have a sand colour one Jakko lol). And it really put me off. The cleaning up. I do prefer the acrylics. 🙂

AuthorHi Danny, for the Crusader, time period early 1943, I used Vallejo Model Air 71330, british khaki green no. 3, at the moment I can't say if it would also fit to the Sherman II of 10th Royal Hussars, El Alamein 1942. I would guess, if it was a brown or earth shade like Dragons instruction say, then maybe SCC-1A British Brown which was in use 1941-42

Danny RayI've found a painting kit by ammo mig for commonwealth Sherman's in North Africa. I think it has all the colours I need for both the sherman and crusader of the 10th hussars.
According to border models they had a BSC 381 light stone on the crusader and Dragon say Mr Hobby 22 dark earth which is very close to ammo mig 111 on a comparison site for the colour of 10th hussar sherman.
I know some people get very hung up on getting the colours very very accurate but I might just stick with the colours the kit makers suggest rather than researching for countless hours.
I'd rather spend my time practice building cheap kits. I think 🙂

Ben MI built this kit too, in the same livery. I found it to be very well engineered and was very enjoyable. I convinced myself I shouldn't have put the fuel tank on the back but that was after I completed it.
Your build is much better than mine! I learn a lot by looking at builds like yours, thanks for sharing on scalemates.

Robert H. Authorthanks Rui, overall no problems, all fitted well, just the vinyl tracks are too long, I cut two links off and so they fit well enough to add some track sag as well, a few small details are missing, like the hooks on the small turret cupola, the spares box solves this problem, the kit instruction has a few smaller errors
