The engine color is actually a Duplicolor rattle can of Detroit Diesel Alpine Green, which turned out to be a decent enough match for the typical Mercedes diesel paint job. Goes on a little thicker than I'd prefer, but is manageable with light coats.

Brian Love Perfect. Its the colour I've been looking for for my maxxpro/m1070/m911 engines!

Brandon H Cab components are done now, minus the cage. I might just have this thing done this year haha...
Bozzer Nice kit, but make sure that the chassis is square. The hood closes onto the side fairings and on mine, it seems to pull the whole fairings forward, putting stress on the rear fender brackets.

Brandon H Thanks for the heads up! I'm actually only using the frame and axles from this kit, but I'll pay extra attention when squaring up that chassis. Might get in touch with some of my machinist friends for that...

Bozzer It's easy enough to do, with a set square, but some guys use Lego. Sounds stupid, but it gives us perfect right angles and can be adjusted to whatever you want. Just a thought brother.
Brandon H Thanks Chris, glad you like it! The valve cover is actually already metal plated in this kit, although I've painted the bottom half to better match the real thing; that's just a Testor's silver/chrome that I use a lot of.
