The cat looks good. Only a few too thick brush strokes on the tail. What kit and decals you used?

hello yeah the revell aquacolor paints can be very thick . a modeler said there similar to emulsion paint.
the black tomcat revell kit. and the decals are aftermarket ones tomcats in color part 1
the decals the red color looks a bit dark compared to the real thing.

@Vincent the elevators are the rear wings on a Cat

1980's colors scheme for F14 :

Light Gull Grey : Top Side
White : Underside & all Control surfaces
black : anti glear panel
radome : nose cone

Great Job on this Cat...and a 2:1 mix of the Aqua Color with Aqua Color mix or simply Water should help to brush them better. Cheers!

hello so the bottom of tail wings have to be painted white

The top of the tail wings (elevators) are also White, that is because that whole thing is the control surface.

I wouldn't change it now if the model is done, though. But maybe keep it in mind for the next Tomcat you do, unless you do one of the many overall gray ones, that is.

It can be hard to remember all the changes in the color specs,,,,,,,,I once built a really pretty looking Skyhawk, and painted the rudder White,,,,,but, the model was of an aircraft from before that time, when the rudders were still Gray. (1961ish for that change)

hello the f15 is build now. the hardest decals to put on it are the side ones
because they have to go over the empty bomb racks. several of them had to be cut to fit
a lot of the tiger stripe decals the clear ones are over sized
painted in tiger sceme on the box. the f16 is next

the coloured parts have to be masked be cause the the decals are over sized

the back legs arnt the strongest I had to hold them in position using a cocktail stick
that was held in position with tape until the glue was set
