Dear friend take a deep breath and move ahead. It`s a hard build but the model will end magnificent.

Thank you for the thumbs up and warning. This has always been one of my very favorite planes. I like the design and shape of the Owl. I have never built one though. So I'm going to try enjoy all the steps and go slowly.

AHA, the big one, also one of my favorite aircraft, I watch with great interest. Maybe I'll build that one too someday. Good luck! 👍

Sharp looking cockpit. 👍 Nice recycling job on the nose weights. Be sure there's no one practicing when you're out collecting your weights!

Thanks John. I collected lots of those when I was 12 or so 😅. We lived at the city with airforce base. My mother didn't know what we were doing 🙈. Also have some nice 30 mm training bullets from Aden cannon.

Mothers would be horrified if they knew what their sons were up to. It's a good thing they don't!

Maybe you can polish the part and then seal it, I heard it goes quite well with Future

Should polish out alright Jan-Erik

I havent polished clear parts before. So I need to practise first with some non essestial parts. I saw a video where they used sanding sticks and then 2 different polishing liquids applied with cotton swaps. I have kit for restoring and polisihing plastic car head lights. I was thinking of using that because I don't have proper materials 🙈. But do you mean that it would go away with just a gloss coating with floor polish? Or do I need to scrub with it?

If you have fine grit sandpaper (2000 and above) you can generally get it to the point where Future (also sold as Klear) will fill in the superfine scratches and make it optically clear. The headlight polishing compound you have should easily get it to that point. All you have to do with the floor polish is dip the part in it, fully submerged. Use tweezers on a painted area/framing and just dip it. Slowly pull the part out and hold it so that excess polish pools in one corner, then lightly touch that edge to a paper towel and it will wick away the excess. If you don't do this, the polish can build up and you'll see it. I'd practice on a spare canopy from something else if you have one. Let it dry overnight and you should be good.

Yep, there are other products that will 'restore' your glass if you don't have access to Future/Klear/Floor Polish. 'Looks like Glass' from Deluxe is available at Hobby stores.

Hello Jan-Erik, I've always had problems with the clear parts, Plege and Future are hard to get, after a long search I found what I was looking for at Krick and I'm very happy with it, my two He 219 in 1:32 and those too red Diva CF 188 are treated with it: krickshop.de/LOOKS-L..odNr=44132&p=443 I use the nail files for grinding trendypreis.de/droge..hoCFFwE.AvD_BhoCFFwE

Supposedly, Squadron Thermaform (Thermoform?) the heat and smash method (for those that remember this product) of making canopies is made of the exact same stuff as 2 liter Coke (and presumably Pespi) bottles. If you're really frustrated with the kit canopy, you can heat & smash over the original. Here's the BUT part, put a heatsink under your original kit canopy or you'll melt it. And by a heatsink, a chunk of play doh or equivalent smushed into the underside of the canopy will work.

Thank you. There seems to be many ways how to mend this. I will first try to polish method. It worked excellent with car.

Thanks for all the supporting comments, it has been really laborsome work and i have cursed my airbrush and paints for many many many many times during this. Now finished with camo and time for some last details and gloss coat for decals and weathering.

Fantastic job. Looks really great. You could try shooting some pics at night with flak lights in front of the great view you have from your window. 😃
