Calvin GiffordVery nice job adding the hangar bay and lights! Unless it was sub-zero temps outside, the 3 and 4 El hangar bay doors were ALWAYS open when I was on her!

Gary BullWent together well with very little filling required. The only issue was the decals, 130 of them. The orange decals just did not want to conform to the model shape or even stick. Had to use a lot of Mr. Mark setter and softener to get them to settle. Had to be careful as they were brittle and if you look closely, you will see some cracks in them.
If I were to build it again I would paint the orange on.

MonteI like the diorama! The topic of the 401 sub and the special aircraft they designed for its hold fascinates me. I have a 1/72 of the M6A1, but no sub. I see the kit that you used isn't stocked by anyone (on scalemates) currently. How were the Pit-Road kits?

The pit road road kit was good with quite a bit of deck detail considering the scale. You do have to scratch build some items but they give you the directions. The only issue, is that the instructions are in Japanese but I found the the camera function of Google translate really helpful there.
I had previously built the Tamiya 1/72 Seiran which made go hunt for the I-400's. I was able to get the Pit Road kit here in Australia but it was the last one.
