Hello Tim, When adding a kit to stash and describing state of contents there is only option for complete decal sheet or missing decal sheet. Can you add partial decal sheet to that option please. Regards Mike

scalemates I contacted Hannants and Aviationmegastore in the past. But no interest/no reply. (if you are a customer of them feel free to ask them when they will be on scalemates)

Thank for Martola. I'll reach out to them

next time that I visit Aviationmegastore, I know one of the guys there and I can ask him

Łukasz Gliński Thanks Guys, I usually buy online from the abovementioned shops, so no chance to talk to them in person unfortunately

Patrick Hagelstein I like Spanjaard's post (15 June 11:44:27) a lot because that's exactly my current situation. Although originally from the Netherlands now temporarily living in the US for work. US and mostly Japanese shops work best for me although my profile is still Dutch.

What should we do about reviews that link back to Web sites that go permanently off-line? I'm thinking of this because Military Modelling is now defunct, but there are quite a few reviews linking back to it, which now simply give an error message. Here's an example of an item with a broken review link:
Ratchet Tie Down set Type 1 (Tetra Model Works MA-35017, 1:35)

Faraz Anwar@scalemates
Hello,
Just wanted to know how to add photos in gallery. I've tried to look but can't find out how to. Thanks
30. May at 20:52:02 Share
Spanjaard you just need to create and album and then upload the pictures.
in the upper part of the screen, you have the different menus:
Wall Notes About Vitrine Projects Albums Articles Manager Stash Started Completed Wishlist Trading Stats
click on "Albums"
then you will have a list of your existing albums (if any) and the button of
"Add new album"
click on that one and then, give the album a name, comments etc. then click on
"save album and upload pictures"
then, in the next screen click on
Upload images
01. June at 11:23:04
Faraz Anwar Thanks for your reply. How do i add my album so that it shows in the gallery on that particular kit's page? I hope you understand what i mean.
02. June at 00:01:20
Spanjaard i believe i know what you mean. you need to also create a project. then add the specific kit you use in that project (or multiple kits/aftermarkets used). link the album and the project, and it should do the trick :) it should appear under the specific kit.
for example, if you browse to Ferrari 250 GTO (Italeri 654, 1:24) at the bottom you will see one of my projects

1:24 Ferrari 250 GTO (Italeri 654)
02. June at 09:24:34
Faraz Anwar Spanjaard I have created a project and attached the other album with pics of the model. What i want to know is how to add it to gallery just like on the ferrari page there is a gallery above your project pics.
02. June at 22:27:44
Martin Oostrom The gallery are links to external websites where the model is shown (as well).
If you create an album on this site, there's no need to create it somewhere else and add a link here. I do believe not all users are allowed to add to a gallery
02. June at 23:09:46
Faraz Anwar That explains it then I guess. Thanks for clarifying it.
03. June at 00:45:15
Spanjaard sorry if i did not understood correctly. in regards to external galleries think you just need to have the pictures published somewhere, and link the article under your own profile (use the "articles" option in the menu, right after project and albums).
thanks Martin for coming to the rescue :)
04. June at 08:43:01
Faraz Anwar Spanjaard Thank you :)

Martin Oostrom@scalemates
Morning Tim,

I've got a question for you. Filters and washes, where should they be put. Are they a hobbytool including paint (category weathering) like this one Grey for Yellow Sand (Ammo Mig Jimenez A.MIG-1505, No) or are they a 'normal' paint like this https://scalemates.com/colors/color.php?id=8008 ?

And for your convenience some doubles I found: SCM Search: ammo do not use

No Grey for Yellow Sand (Ammo Mig Jimenez A.MIG-1505)
03. June at 09:42:40 Share
Moritz Fentzahn In my opinion they should be listed as colors, a hobbytool is something totally different in my mind
03. June at 09:46:52
Martin Oostrom I agree a hobbytool sounds like knives and files and brushes and stuff. But most diorama stuff is under hobby tools as well. e. g. Acrylic water and mud
03. June at 09:51:48
scalemates Filters and washes and paint = used to give something a color = Paints section.
03. June at 09:56:43
03. June at 09:59:27
Moritz Fentzahn @Martin
You are right the diorama stuff should be listed into a more suiting topic. Thpught about this a few times and had no good idea yet. What do you think?
03. June at 10:05:26
Martin Oostrom I'm not sure. Right now we're having some mixed entries. Tim created paint sets, works like a charm. But there are also Pigment sets out there. Pigments are under hobby tools (for now?) and can't be combined in a set.
Tim did a great job in building Scalemates Perhaps we need to give him a hand and combine some ideas.

I'll try to visualize some ideas in an album, always easier to discuss things with a picture :)
But not now, Sunday morning breakfast time!
03. June at 10:23:34
scalemates Pigments can go to the paint section
03. June at 10:45:23
Martin Oostrom No time for the Visuals yet, but this keeps popping up in my mind.
It's just a short suggestion, and I'm open for feedback, and better ideas.

Category Paints. Only used for base colours:
-Primers
-All colours, either opaque or transparent
-Varnishes

NEW Category Weathering/Diorama Products. This can be used for everything that's adding extra to a model, beside the base colours.
-(Panel line) washes
-Filters
-Mud, Waters
-Pigments
-Oilbrushers
-Grass, leaves, etc (these are now under Detail and Conversion!?)
I'd like to be able to create sets of these as well, just like the paints.
Topic can be removed with these items.

On another note, I'd like to have more options in the Add Paint screen. Also some suggestions.
Add Picture. Some companies have nice photos on their website. I'd like to use those. When displaying a paint use this sequence to decide:
1) FS or RAL or RGB if known
2) Product Picture
3) Manufacters logo

I'd like to be able to use a prefix or postfix with the paints. Some companies use a sub-series in their paints. e.g. Nature Effects - Slimy Green. The Nature Effects would be the sub-series, Slimy Green the product name.

And another suggestion for the paint sets. If possible, automatically calculate the number of bottles from each volume. Now there are multiple ways of showing used. e.g. 3x 17 ml, 3*17ml, 17mlx 3, etc.
THe volumes of the separate bottles are known, could this be possible? (less errors that way)

I reserve the right to think of other stuff ;)
03. June at 12:02:10
Martin Oostrom Just did. If I look at a seperate product, I'd like to be able to see in which sets it's included.

scalemates ah cool!
23. May at 22:32:33
Steve Wilson Tim rather than TIN CAN... TINLET is a better way in English to describe the tin of paint... Tamiya paint jars, Humbrol tinlets.
And yes as Norman says, PAINT JARS is another kind of paint container.

Martin Oostrom Diorama stuff (water/asphalt) comes in a (plastic) jar 250ml. or is it a bottle?
03. June at 00:56:44
Steve Wilson @Martin Oostrom... That's one of those odd situations where Jar or Bottle is fine... But as a rule of thumb, the difference between a Jar and Bottle is, a Bottle has a NARROW neck. A Jar has a the same size neck as the rest of the Jar.

Bottles are used primarily to store liquids. They are not effective for solid storage because of the narrow neck, which makes it difficult to pour out the contents of the bottle, let alone get something inside. Thick liquids such as ketchup and other sauces may also be packaged in bottles, and there are a wide variety of bottle designs available, from bottles designed to keep their contents carbonated to bottles with traps for sediment. Bottles may be corked, stoppered, or sealed in other creative ways, like with a marble which pushes against a rubber gasket as long as the contents of the bottle stay carbonated.

A jar, on the other hand, can be used to store liquids or solids. Jars are classically cylindrical, although they may also be made in the form of squares and other shapes. Like bottles, jars can be sealed in a wide variety of ways, and their design allows people to either pour out the contents, or scoop them out, depending on personal taste and the contents of the jar. Jars are also easier to stack than bottles, as they classically have flat tops, taking up less space than bottles, which must be stacked in large racks.
