Coming soon a bit more to the "grandma" of the MiG-21
The Ye-2A and Ye-5, both equipped with the Tumansky-developed AM-11 (R-11) engine, developed 3800 kg and 5100 kg thrust with afterburning.
The Ye-2A flew for the first time on March 22, 1956, and a pre-series of five other aircraft was built, which was provisionally assigned the designation MiG -23.
The evaluation showed, however, that the Ye-5 with the delta wing showed slightly better properties and was selected for mass production.
Anyone interested in aviation, the first series versions of the MiG-21F and MiG-21F-13, knows what came afterwards.
Finished cells have been reused for successor types, or passed on to technical schools, such as those in Moscow or the Kharkov aviation institute.
