I am so lucky that I still have all of them up to my very first zero, Bf 109, spitfire and hurricane in 1/72. :) They all just survived on my parents attic until I re-discovered my glue addiction :)

Hello mates,
this is my second Tomcat built 1975. Only some fragments are left in a mixed box (grave) and those old reddish pictures (I cured them a bit). As you see i made a lot of lettering with a Rapidograph (with ink!). Who knows? Those were these days.....
Cheers, Tom

Thank god there are no fotos left of how MY builds looked back in 75....... I was 8 and used to play with them of course. Not even fragments left. They were no way even near your results :) I think we used to burn the remains usually....

Kit was not so good. I built it 1999 together with Hasegawa Kfir and altered it to that standard as far as possible. Microscale and scratch decals for No. 11 Red from book Osprey Aggressors. LG is too short, so let´s say fully loaded before start.....

Thank you Guys!!

Hello Steve:

Measure 21, june 1942, this is pre-FS

Navy Blue System

Vertical Surfaces:

Navy Blue 5-N All Vertical surfaces without exception.

Horizontal Surfaces:

Horizontal surfaces, Deck Blue, 20-B.

Wood Decks.

Wood decks except on submarines and carriers shall be darkened to the color Deck Blue. Deck Blue paint shall be used in lieu of stain for this purpose.

Canvas Covers.

Canvas covers visible from the outside vessel are to be dyed a color corresponding to Deck Blue.

Notes:

The camouflage painting need not be exact or carried into corners. Small gear, wires, rigging, and areas permanently in shadow, as under boats, etc., need not be painted with the camouflage colors. There is no objection to exact or careful painting which may be desired for the sake of good appearance at close range.

All bright or shiny objects, no matter how insignificant, shall be painted, covered, or removed.

Glass windows shall be covered or removed, especially during the day in sunny weather, and at night when anticipating searchlight discovery. Insofar as conditions permit, similar precautions shall be taken on airport lenses.

( look at google for much more, this: www.shipcamouflage.com)

:)

Hello mates,
this is my most timeconsuming model started 1980, stopped because the vacu was much too wrong. Then i stopped modelling for many years. After i started again i made the fuselage in sections. The glass is also made from scratch in 7 pieces plus black frame. It took 14 years to finish it in 1994. A picture was in ModellFan then. It is not the Trumpy model, it is easy to discern. "F-107" is cutted airbrush-foil and laquered. It took more than 400 hrs. Stencilling is Verlinden and Microscale as are the scratch decals. Only the wings are quite changed from Airmodel Vacu. Aerophile was my main reference...

Hello mates,
here a model of mine which didnt make it. This pic is from around 1978/1979. The model 1:72 itself was built as soon as the kit was available in Germany. 1975?
Some remains do exist!
On Agfa Papier, so typical brutal red tint....
She passed away but i miss her!

Hello mates,
this is my Vigilante from USS America built in November 1979. I like the asian touch. I removed some tiny yellow life forms on edges with alcohol (nice death) and polished the canopy. There is a bit too much blue in the Gull Gray (this model didnt get yellowish since 1979, wouldnt hurt!).
Vigi is one of the hottest jets to me. Looks so fast and much too modern for 1958. Mother of XF-108 Rapier. More pix are coming....

1979!!! She holds up pretty well. And yes she looked so fast back then and I think she still does today. Well done!

Wow, looking real good Thomas! You're right about the look, back in 1958 it must have made a spacecraft - like impression on spectators.

Thank you guys! Holger: this was fixed in a shoe box from 1980 to 2001. 4 moves: to Regensburg, to Augsburg, to Würzburg, to Regensburg 2001. (im a Burger, you see!) never pictured until now :)
