I thought the comment section on each of the kits shown on the site was intended for people to let others know if there is any issues with the build, or to pass on relevant information regarding the kit. Am I wrong in this belief?
I’ve noticed a lot more people using the comments section for their own personal information, like “I own this item”; “Shrink wrapped”; “Incomplete”. I don't know why you would need to add it to your stash and also feel you have to state in the comments that you own the kit. Surely the comments section will eventually be so swamped with pointless rubbish that the useful information will be lost.
I know there is a comment section for personal use but I don’t think many other members do. It took me many years before I noticed it and it took me a while to remember how to find it. I think the personal comments box is too hidden away. Is it possible to put it in a more prominent place please? The ideal would be beside the box art and kit info on the stash page so that you can see the information relevant to your own kit without having to click on various other things.
Thanks.

Maybe it will be possible to have a "personal comment" box in the product pages, that populates the personal comments field. to avoid the comments that gorby is pointint out. they tend to be quite annoying ("missing instructions", "purchased in 2020" etc, etc)

Even with any fix people will still do the same. There are instructions and warnings on shampoo for a reason.

Weird. Someone removed a comment I'd left on a kit pointing out where to and at what step to add one of the parts that was left out of the directions 🤷‍♂️

For personal notes you can use the "stash". Go to the model and in the overview there is an option "State". Here it is possible to make several entries.

Unfortunately I don't think it is widely known that personal comments can be made in that way Christian.

People are lazy so most wont stumble across this, or probably find it when they're looking for it. Its weird knowing people who go to a new environment and don't immediately look around everywhere.

Plenty of members don't have the time or inclination to explore the site. Although I do check the features I didn't stumble across the personal comments box for about seven years. I may have noticed it earlier but as I don't record the state of my kits I must have forgotten about it.

I underline your opinions full.
Before you start dealing with the new environment, you just do it without thinking. Like in a forum: Standard answer: "Have you used the search function?"

Perhaps it is time to update the FAQ? There are a whole bunch of features added, that aren't necessarily covered. Perhaps make that a group effort?

May be additionally to "Data suggestions" and "Feature requests" a "Help requests" is useful. Over the time there can be found answers for all the specific questions (but only if users will look before posting the questions).

I think that's a great idea Martin & Bughunter. Scalemates is very complex and it's no surprise people get confused – I do sometimes and I've been a member 9 years. I have a document called 'Scalemates the usual stuff' with answers to the questions people keep asking, so I can just copy and paste a reply to their query rather than type it out from scratch. If there was a 'Help' section that sort of information could be easily accessible without having to ask.

Actually you can make it visible on the stash page today! When you enable "Stash info" at the top of the stash page you will see all stash info

I only found out you can display personal comments etc. using the Stash info button a couple of days ago. 😳
I would be great if you could enter the information directly there or at least an edit button by the side. I was wondering if 'Stash info' should be shown as a default but that probably wouldn't be popular with people with huge stashes. You don't want another 'Like' controversy on you hands. 😄
