This is a very interesting subtopic on symbolism and ideology. The Germans mandated WW2 and holocaust classes in their education system - as well as enacted bans on the symbols in the hopes of never repeating these mistakes. The Japanese went the totally opposite direction - censoring the atrocities in their school systems. Oddly enough, both countries 9and if I may dare say, cultures) are now the leading advocates for peace - which should give us hope for humanity as a whole.
The blanket practice of Stripping symbols from kits, passing laws against the Confederate flag, or any other form of "censorship" are in my opinion, simplistic and ignorant. A modeler putting a swastika on a realistic BF-109 does not make a person a Nazi or a sympathizer - conversely, a person making the Heil Hitler salute may not be technically breaking the law, but may be spiritually going down the wrong path if they mean it.
In my humble opinion, it is better for the kits to retain these dark symbols, as it allows those who see the final product the chance to talk about it, and the root causes that empowered those symbols of hate and inhumanity - the failure to talk to each other in a calm, collected and civil manner and find creative ways to work and win together. The United States is at such a crossroad as Germany was in 1933 - let's hope that cooler hears prevail.
That said, my only problem with the Nazi flag is twofold: 1) it looks too clean on such a seasoned tank. 2) Wouldn't the flag impede the proper cooling of the engine? 🤔

Eloquently put CaptGPF. Interestingly, the swastika symbol was hijacked by the Nazis. It was used by various religious cultures over thousands of years. I think the symbol has meaning in some Asian religions? Different cultures deriving differing symbolism from the same image.
As for the flag on the back of the Panzer 3. I think its being used as a Luftwaffe marker for a desert campaign? And usually stowed away, next to the tea and biscuits inside the turret. 🙂

Cheers Neuling... You'd know better than myself... I just model things... lol... I think this comes up from allocating the kit and Paint scheme from your inventory... It should be patt of the instruction sets given paint schemes...But it could be incorrect... None the less... Cheers for the compliment

Every one of the reviews I've read say that the tracks were the most tedious part of the build. So, looks like you're ahead of the game. Looking forward to more, Eddy. Enjoy it.🍻

Cheers John... Honestly... As far as plastic workable tracks go, these are probably the easiest I've put together... No glue and click together... The tedious part is sanding the sprue nubs to all of them, not that theyre visible... It took about 6 hrs in total... Last night's session i managed 110 links in an assembly line fashion... Sharp sprue cutters do help though...

This kit isnt for the feint of heart having over 1300 parts to it contained in 22 odd sprues... But it is a Meng Kit, which sees this subject executed exceptionally well for us modelers...
Tracks out of the box are easy click together system with vinyl push on retainers - and with the supplied Jig it builds surprisingly fast without fuss and is really is a true workable track... Suspension all works, including the linkages, and is a breeze to put together... The entire kit just falls together... Albeit over a bit of time...
The plastic itself is incredibly well molded with no error which flows onto exceptional fit between parts... This has the least amount of mold seams I've seen in a kit in some years too... If you're looking for a challenging modern day AFV subject, then this could be it... Exceptional Engineering, Moldings, Minimal Cleanup of parts, Highly Detailed outta of the box with a few extras thrown in - Meng has certainly justified its price point for this awesome representation of the Russian BMR-3M... They truly are leading the way in today's modelling scene in multiple genres...
I just wish their instruction booklets were A4 instead of A5, it seems as little small for such a complex build and the odd additional view of parts in-situ when bonding would help - but none the less it does do the job...
This should hold true for all Meng's offerings in the T-72 and T-90 variants... Well Done Meng..! A solid 9 outta 10...!

I agree, it really looks pretty impressive and you've done great job.
If you are a T-55 fan (like myself) I'd highly recommend doing the new T-55A kit from Ryefield Model, it's perfect in every way and from the feedback you gave on Takom .. RFM outperforms Takom by miles, I've enjoyed mine so much.

If your a fan of WWI armour or looking for a change in genre from the norm, then Meng's offering if the Whippet Mk A is awesome.... Firstly it's exceptional value here in Australia for around the $45 mark... Secondly you can have this built up ready for paint including its tracks in a dedicated weekend... The tracks simply click together and you build basically 3 modules, 2 Sponsons and the Main body... There are some fine peices but not too many to take away from the build... With its exposed tracks and angled body shape it lends itself to modulation and heavier weathering techniques... Absolute blast and highly recommended for beginners to advanced builders alike..! Go get 1 or 6..!
