Kerry COXAll digital cameras are capable of really high quality close ups and every one should learn to master it just like an air brush. In fact, it is good to do for your own examination of something even our eyes cant see. I find that I can pick up a lot of faults in my work from my close up pics. A great tool to have.

Soeren R.Its an "old" Canon and probably over 8-9 years. Was never the guy who need pics, so I only used it rarely.
For my photos here I used my smartphone and it also worked 🙂 but as soon I will build some better kits (in 10 years? 😛) I will think about a new cam😉

A few words about the kit. It's a decent kit with a good fit. It provides the option of having the flaps down, which may be a bit tricky and you need good info to do this. I kept them in the up position which means that the main landing gear cover should also be in the up position. The large intake lips need thinning. The only thing that doesn't make this model great are the decals. They aren't accurate according to a picture I found on the net. They tend to break and the setting solutions didn't make a difference. Also in my case the white in the decals was of register. So try to get an aftermarket set of decals if possible. Also do some research on the painting, as Academy had an obvious mistake in painting the cockpit black while it should be painted in interrior green (and I made the mistake). Another mistake was that the instructions place the insignia in the wrong positions: the large insignia must be placed on the wings while the small insignia on the fuselage.
So Szilard have the above in mind when building your kit.

The weathering was actually wash getting under the decals in some places, since the decals where very problematic and the setting solutions did no good. Also I tried to do some paneling with different colors and it kind of worked. Next time I'll do it better.
I'll have in mind your aluminum finish kit when you start it.

Kerry COXThe main wheel covers always came down after the hydraulic pressure decreased when everything was shut down, so you got it right mate. 🙂

The fuel lines in the pics are hard to see since I left them in bare metal. In the real thing the fuel lines are black and this was corrected later on.
My final mistake in the kit is the anti-glare area... It isn't so anti-glare, is it? Since the decals were so difficult, after I put on the gloss varnish I was afraid to mask and apply a matt varnish on the anti-glare, so I left is as it is...

Yes the decals were pretty difficult to work with.
