Thx for your nice comments Mates! I'm soooo happy I finally finished this bird, I started this one loooong time ago whilst on Holiday in Cornwall (2004!) and this was put in storage for years due to loss of interest. I had my first airbrush experience with Xtracrylics paint on this one and it was horrible. You can achieve beautiful results with this paint (if you're lucky) but I had to do lots and lots of polishing, respraying etc as this is definately NOT a user friendly paint brand, unless you like to strip your airbrush every 15 seconds or so due to paint clogging, something I never have with Tamiya or Gunze. I even thought about scrapping the model but now I'm glad I didn't 😄.

The past couple of months I worked on it every now and then and hurraaah it's finally completed 🙂

I added some more pics, hope you enjoy...

Luckily you didn`t scrap this fine modell!! Wilfried, this amazing Jaguar is one of those very seldom seen models of this type. You made a fine and amazing painting job. The entire modell is absolutly perfect clean built.
Great, great job you have done, my friend.
I like the little figure symbol on the tail. The picture of the front section is super!!!!

Thx Dirk, actually the kit is a GR1A Jaguar but I made some small (and easy) corrections to make it look more like a GR3A (I liked this colour scheme but that's a GR3A). I removed the two blade antennas just aft of the canopy and replaced it by a correct one, I also filed the tail cone to a more blunt shape and finally, I punch-and-die'd a small circle in black decal paper and attached it just in front of the windscreen to simulate the GPS-receiver. There are probably more mods but I don't really bother as I'm normally an OOB builder (not BOB the Builder but OOB the Builder) 🙂

Looks great Willy! Nice and clean, and the tail markings add a lot to the overall grey. The guy on the tail is a "saint" apparently, but I don't know the reference. The Saint, like the movie or old TV show? Or maybe just St. Jaguar the Loud.

I have the Revell/Italeri kit in my stash, but she's going to be pink! As in Desert Pink! With some nose art... 🙂

Thank you for your nice comments Mates! I didn't know my dear wife got access to Scalemates too, she probably contacted you with a private message and asked you to send me these kind words to keep me happy, I wonder what that will cost me again! 🙁

@Bill, yes I like the contrast between the grey tones and the black fin too. I find those plain grey schemes way too boring but on the other hand I don't like all those special commemorative schemes with lots and lots of colours, then these big mean war machines looks more like fairground attractions. Maybe the enemy laughs itself to death when it sees one approaching? 😉 That's why I try to look for an "operational" scheme and a touch of colour (if black is a "colour"😢...

The guy on the tail is indeed The Saint but I'm unaware of a connection between the Squadron and the movie/tv show. It definately looks a lot better than a picture of Roger Moore on the fin!

I'm having the Italeri Jaguar kit too, also gonna be a Desert Storm Pink one. Gonna use the "Johnny Fartpants" nose-art on this one. I'm thinking of replacing the text "HONK" in the text balloon by "I FART IN YOUR DIRECTION" (copyright the Famous French Taunter in The Holy Grail movie) or "I FART IN THE DIRECTION OF RIVER COUNTERS" 😉
