Donald Dickson IIOK. To the question I posed about the wheel well color. I got the Revell colors I ordered and figured I would do a color comparison. The bronze green and mossy green are Revell paints (and let me state for the record I HATE those stupid freaking tins. I will never make Revell or Humbrol my regular paints just because of that). The interior green and zinc chromate are Model Masters. So we know the colors are correct.
So i did this on the inside of the wing. I am thinking the bronze green with the mossy green over it. Or perhaps just the mossy green. The interior and zinc chromate are clearly NOT the color in the pic and in several other pics I have looked at.
As for the model itself, main parts together and a little flat black sprayed to check the body seams.

Patrick HagelsteinNo clue what the real life color is, but if you pale up the mossy green (i.e. add some light grey in the mix) you can light down and de-saturate to color to look like the pictures. Never seen that dark of a green on a post war US aircraft though.

Carlos CisnerosThe real life color is most likely Dull Dark Green. The closest modern equivalent is FS 34092.

tyuFS34092 looks like the closest equivalent to you pictures, but normally it should be interior green or silver. My advise: never trust a museum displayed aircraft.

Donald Dickson IIWell I figured what better way to start off the year than being sick as a dog. So I haven't got all what done. Like next to nothing. I was able to sit down at the bench for about 30 minutes or so and got a few decals on.

And about the decals. I DID try to use the kit decals. worked just fine, BUT they had that nasty milky coating on the backside that older sets get sometimes. I couldnt get it to come off. So thankfully I have several Hun kits and a number of decal sets. So I grabbed this one as it IS so flipping gaudy. I love how they used to turn the planes into pimp mobiles. 🙂

Donald Dickson IIOK, now that I have the driver side decals on, I am very pleased with how it looks. I had to walk away then get some decals on it to calm my need to "make it better".
