These eduard kits are just a joy! Wich gun is under the wings? 151/20?

Finally got some color on this 109, tomorrow I'll put a gloss coat on her and then leave her for a week before putting decals on.

After leaving this kit to sit to one side for a week I've now finally got the decals on. Next a gloss clear coat in prep for a wash.🙂

Gloss coat on, time to forget about her for a week.🙂

Thanks Lode & Stephan, unfortunately Lode, I'm disappointed myself that I have to wait so long. I used to do the decaling then when that was finished do a clear coat of gloss and then the next day do a wash over the whole model. I think I was playing with fire and was lucky to get away with that method for so long, now it's better to just wait the week. Besides I've got plenty of other stuff going on at the work bench.🙂

But I have just one question please. Whats up with the camo and the Slat on port side?
20 September 2019, 22:44
Michael Hickey
Thanks Holly, never noticed that before, I'll have to fix it up before going much further.😢

Hello Michael, the Marton of relaxation has got color 👍 very nice the pattern of the wings 👍 The Bartels his machine has been issued around 1970/75 near Bonn "Werner Griebig Missing German fighter pilots ... engine book - Publisher "until the day he was considered missing like so many pilots of those years 🙁
Your pictures lure me "should I do", let's see, until the exhibition in Chemnitz I have other work in progress, but in the new year .... 😄

Thanks Jens, it pleases me that you are tempted to do this scheme. My 6 Bf 109G-6's from 7./JG 53 with the "Cartoon Characters" painted on each side of them are also coming along with colour. These I'm very excited about.😄😄😄

The propeller looks really great - paint or decal? 🙂
21 September 2019, 16:34
Michael Hickey
Thanks Slavo, the spinner's spiral is a decal, it took 2 attempts with the first decal ending up in the bin.

Thanks James & Lode, well after stuffing the first attempt the second attempt was much easier. First I use Microscale Micro Set to wet the spinner, then I lay the decal paper very close to the spinner and lay it on, then I use Microscale Micro Set to soften and push the decal around using a toothpick. I keep on using the Micro Sol to soften the decal and to settle down. It has a couple of very small wrinkles but I can live with those.😢

You're welcome Lode. James, I start from the tip and just let it wrap around the spinner and make the necessary adjustments.

There is one thing that cought my attention from the beginning. The left wing camo and the not camoed slat. But i suppose it is straight like the original?
26 September 2019, 07:30
Michael Hickey
Hey Holly, that area is all fixed up now, I even painted the exposed wing interior RLM 02 just like it's supposed to be.🙂 Thanks for letting me know.

I've just finished the wash on this bird, now I only need to do the undercarriage and canopy and other small bits and pieces, should be finished in the next 24 to 48 hours.🙂

What a great job! 👍 That's a really snappy scheme - the sawtooth camo on the wings, gray combined with the white trim and red markings. Excellent execution. Nice weathering as well.
