Zil-131 United Nations
Now that I have quite a precise idea of what I want to do with it, I started weathering it into a long abandoned vehicle
Some rust is still needed.
The chassis looked too dark. A serious wash with buff fixed that. Some more rust needed here too.
For rust I used thick washes of oils in white spirit. Three tone were used to build up the effect
I tried to let it rust in logical places
Not unsatisfied with the chassis so far. But the cabin does not look quite right yet.
Two jacks have been fashioned.
The rear axles will be supported by piles of bricks.
The jacks will be placed on a slate of 'concrete'.
Proof of concept.
I'll ad two more layers of bricks. The jacks are adjustable. So I can achieve some more tire clearance.
Fresh from the spares box: Some of the stuff that will eventually populate the bed of this truck. Basic painting done, with some parts hairspray-chipping too. Next oils.

Looking quite real🙂

Hi Neuling and Finn. Welcome.
@Neuling: the pics will come as soon as it is ready. 🙂 Work actually seriously hampers my hobby right now.

Great level of weathering!
Really like rusty vehicles😃
Maybe add some rust deposits in the corners and a few subtle streaks on the cabin🤔

This should be a long abandoned vehicle. So the tires should be flat. Having mounted resin wheels it would be difficult to achieve that. So I decided to lift the truck, thus making round tires believable. The rear axles will rest on piles of bricks while I fashioned two jacks for the front.
