looking really interesting 🙂
Thanks! Hope the result will meet your expectations. 🙂 Not the first D-Day project, but just my attempt to built a part of the Atlantikwall in Normandy during D-Day.
This is going to be huge. I'm the first boat😉
Added some pics of the construction of diorama base and the construction of the PAK gun.
The roof parts of the bunker are dry fit.
Added some pics of a couple of G.I.'s painted in the base color and the PAK gun which is constructed. Currently assembling some ranger figures and steel obstacles for on the beach. Try to minimize the amount of pics because I love to take lots of pics when working on a project. Also included a pic of the nameplate.
Obviously the tyres on the PAK are not fitted the way they are supposed to be fitted. This is done for test purposes.
Great idea and nice Start, following!
This is a project I've been working on for more than a year now on and off. It contains a Sherman Crab, a Universal Carrier and a Bailey Bridge along with a couple of figures. The figures being British infantry at rest, 2 visible crew members of the Crab and 3 crew members of the Carrier. The idea is to make a diorama which depicts a quiet part of the Allied advance in Europe in which the Crab crosses the Bailey Bridge and the Carrier, it's crew and infantry are waiting and chatting near the side of the road and bridge.
Featured in the album is what I have so far: the Crab which is nearly finished building, the carrier which is finished. Next step for both is to paint them. Currently in process of painting the figures and still have to finish building the bridge. The driver of the Crab is finished painting and is attached in the hull.
Looking forward here ...........
Thanks guys. Finally finished building the bridge. Only left is attaching the rope on both sides of the bridge on the poles.
I bet there were many hours work just assembling each panel, before you could start erecting the bridge! Looks like it can easily support that beast of a tank! Following with interest 👍
I love it!
@Bruce Huxtable if you're talking about me 😁 it took me indeed many hours before I had something that at least looked a bit like a bridge. One of the reasons it took me quite some time to complete the bridge.

Great job on the dappled camouflage on the loaders' uniforms.
Thanks gentlemen. This was the first time I've painted camouflage in any form on a figure's uniform. Turned out pretty good.

Thanks! Started working on the damage and rubble behind the Sherman due to the Panzerfaust hit.
Worked some more on the rubble and damage behind the Sherman. Also worked on the British soldier, he's as good as finished. I like the result.
So do I.
Continued working on the other German, a Fallschirmjäger. Painted camo on his jacket and added the first couple of decals. Also added a picture of German camouflage I used as an example.
The British soldier is finished. He's got the insignia of the Irish Guards on his uniform and the German Fallschirmjäger with the camouflage jacket is finished. Finished the camo and painted his face.

Started building the Asuka Firefly. No pics from the actual build but Asuka builts very nice and fast. Everything fits very well. Using a detail set from Black Dog with the hessian camouflage. Started to add hessian tape made from masking tape to make the transitions from the hull to the pieces of tape more smooth. Also pictured are the tank crew busts I'm gonna use.
Figure busts are from Resicast. I really like the stuff Graham from Resicast makes.
I'm gonna add additional stuff on the front part the hull. First I have to finish the lower hull part with the suspension and finish the tracks because the hessian tape pieces cover the upper part of the tracks and hull. Then upper and lower hull parts can be glued together and additional stuff like spare tracks and/or boxes can be adder.
Nice! I'm using the same kit for a French did soon. Good to hear it went together well as its my first Asuka kit.
I'm curious: once you have the figs in the hatches is it obvious at all that this kit has no turret interior or 17pdr breech?
Thanks Michael! Currently building 4 Asuka Sherman kits and they all are excellent. When you use the Asuka turret and you put full figures in the turret you won't see that the kit hasn't turret interior because they will fill most of the hatch opening. The turret I'm using here is the turret of the Black Dog detail set. In that toen there's only room for half figures.

Started building the M4A3 Sherman Cougar kit from Asuka. No big plans with this one. Just gonna make a small base under it and a crew member refuelling on the engine deck. Have been using PE from Aber and Eduard and other after market stuff like stowage from Tamiya, Bronco and Legend on this model. Replaced the Asuka gun parts with a full gun mount and breech from Resicast. Don't know if I'm gonna use the figures on the pics. Just took them out of the spare box to see if these could work with the model.

This is my first real kit bash. The starting point is the Tamiya M1 Super Sherman kit. I'm gonna convert this into a late World War II M4A1 76(w) Sherman. I bought this kit and alot of upgrade material from a scale modelling buddy. He already added Dragon tracks, a barrel from Aber, spare parts of Asuka and suspension parts from the Tamiya M10 kit. That suspension is more detailed than the suspension in this Tamiya kit. I've added the Dragon transmission cover and gun travel lock from my own spare parts. Since alot of the end connectors broke off I'm gonna remove alot of them of the tracks. This is seen in alot of photographs of Sherman tanks from World War II.
Also used idler wheels from a Dragon Sherman kit. Much more detailed than the ones Tamiya provided.
very nice! i think i would have used metal tracks from friul instead
Thanks! Friul tracks are nice but these are nice ones too. At the moment I'm trying to use up as much as good detailed plastic parts. Just too many cool spare parts laying around doing nothing. 🙂
Construction of the M4A1 is mostly finished. Two figures will be on and in the tank and one or two figures beside it. Will picture them soon.
