Thank you, guys!
@Black Baron: They had one studio scale model for ANH and a second, smaller one for ESB and RotJ. Althoug it was smaller in scale, the second model reproduced the form and weathering of the older one quite faithfully. So, the reference to be had is photos of these models that are abundant from the exhibitions of the past. The movie footage does not provide acurate views of the details of the MF. So, I take the studio models and transform them into what they would look like in real life (in my opinon).
@Bernie: The white is MRP-099.

Finally, I'm nearing completion of painting that thing. Also I installed the electronics package.
Looking forward to see it with light 🙂
Only a small update - I finished the boarding ramp and the landing gear. The cables are old guitar string.

Would look really nice with a landing pad diorama I think, like the one at Mos Eisley space station.
Landing pad yes, Mos Eisley no. Why? The Mos Eisley landing pit is a very confined space. You would see only a small angle of this gorgeous kit, even if you built a cut-away dock.
I'm aiming more for a free floating landing pad like Cloud City or Coruscant. We'll see. I'm open to ideas.
i will certainly follow this one. floating one will be amazing for the kit you are doing. supported by some transparent rods maybe? some fake clouds around them to make them less visible?
Yes, maye something like that. I'm still lacking good references of SF landing platforms.
Check out Artstation if you are having trouble with references. There are dozens of amazing artists that may have just the idea you need.
