Funny, all in the eye of the beholder I suppose but I like the water effect. Very different approach but clear still fresh water will look pretty much like that. Still around the floats and a little disturbed where nothing gets in the way of the gentle gusts. Might be a little too much sunken treasure? Very life like dio, well done!

I like it! I've actually seen small boats and aircraft tied up to worse spots (more junk in the water) and the ripple affect looks "spot on" to me. If it was radial engined it'd need the rainbow affect of oil/fuel slick in the water...I agree with Peter

Thank you guys. I'm happy it triggers some emotions here 😉
Indeed it is in the eye of the beholder (and upon light conditions). I must have a split personality, because I cannot make up my mind about the water myself.
To me, there are two main issues to it:
1. Is the capillary action everywhere near any object. Didn't find a solution to it.
2. Is the different texture of water materials. Depending on the angle and light, sometimes it blends in perfectly and sometimes it's odd (I assume that this is what spanjaard isn't convinced about - cause so am I too). In order to reduce that, I added a layer of future varnish in a corner of the diorama to see how it is working - and indeed, it helps "fusion" both products (AK 2K water and gel).
After being sure that the varnish would not react in any way with the AK products, I'm gonna set a layer of it over the whole water. That should improve the general water effect.

Here a link to the example I followed:

To "improve" the water you could add some Vallejo Water scalemates.com/colors/color.php?id=5293 as a top layer, or a similar product. That way you can control the waves a bit more.

Your water is way better than I ever done 👍

Outstanding result, Benoit ! The wooden pier looks very authentically wathered and bleached, and the plane ist great. I like the water effect, but to me there seems to be a little too much of a breeze to make the sunbathing beauty feel comfy....🙂 . It gives me the impression of a rather chilly wind coming up.

I just realised that you used masks for the markings - what cutting plotter did you use? I am impressed how you could do the tiny markings

Thanks chaps.
Martin, I'll have a look at that product, thanks for the hint.
Lukasz, that's a very big compliment, thanks... 🙂
@ Thomas: The masks have been cut with a Silhouette Cameo Cutter.

As additional information: Figurines came from Reedoak (3D printed, of excellent quality) and the pier was made out of balsa wood, painted with pastels (neocolors)
