1968 VW Beetle Polizei
Expect the small decals, the engine is done
Removed the trim and filled the place for teh VW badge ón the trunk lid
Removed all the chrome on the parts
Painted the formerly chromed parts already green, the body is fillered
The undercarriage is already done
painted the floor black/green, seats mid grey (mouse grey)
Took the chance to paint the interieur of the Polar Lights "Herbie" as well as the Polizei beetle
Ready to paint the body
Fine 🙂
First view of the interior
Put the only two decals on the body
Interior is done. Contrary to the instruction I painted the telefon earphone brown instead of black. So maybe it is visible through the windows.
Completed the headliner - painted as a Standard Beetle. The Standard Beetle has no liner at it's pillars.
Need some help to get the parts in place
Nearly done 🙂
To close a little gap on the rear, my "buddy" helped me again 😄
The front windows are installed too.
Looks like a car lift *lol*
A small detail. I like the head light. Revell did a good job.
A little help at the front
Nearly done 🙂
New pictures. Except a license plate and the antenna, it's done 🙂

Thank you! I use backing oven cleaner (spray) to remove the plating. I put the parts into a small bin, spraying the backing oven cleaner in it and pay Attention that the surface of the parts are covered completely. It depends on the Age and Producer of the kit, how Long it lasts. At this model kit, it was done after a couple of hours. Sometimes I have to do it twice (at my Diablo by Revell e.g.)
After the plating is gone, I wash it up with water. That's it😉

Some thick bleach works wonders on chrome plating as well, in just a couple of minutes. It does give a noticeable smell 😉
Like where you're going 👍

Album info
My interpretation of the Polizei Beetle.
I do want to use the speaker on the fender but don't like the flashing blue light on the middle of the roof. So I mixed up the version 3 (flashing blue light on the left front corner on the roof) with version 1 (speaker on the fender).
Further on there will be no chrome on my Beetle. I think, most of the Beetles in duty of an authority were delivered as a standard without any options.
