Awesome, love the barracuda, the Velcro on turret and the gas bottle on turret. Had to machine one for my 1/16 AS1. Great job. Your vehicle?

Thanks Scott. Nah....but the ARN is for the now Gate Guardian placed at Blamey Barracks ARN29327. A friend had the job of project managing the placement of the real deal. The Velcro is the AFV anti slip coating stickers sprayed black and placed on after the AUSCAM scheme was applied.
Thanks Holger - I was inspired by Sam Dwyer's build showcased in Tamiya Model Military magazine. I used a different approach being lead foil cut to size for the individual Barracuda sections, overlay of netting and the kazimakuri laser cut paper for the 'scrim'. I try to do something new in every model. For this project it was Barracuda from scratch.

Craig, A truly well presented cat, and the "Scrim" (love that word) looks like it was issued from the 'Q' store a long time back. 🙂
I remember seeing them at Pukka' many years ago when the 'Cent' was phased out. 🙂
Excellent detail and weathering mate. 👍

Gate guardian, I remember them coming into service. Then again I started my working life on bringing Hornet into service and now bringing JSF in, went to Hawaii on Adelaide FFG-7 and she is a reef wreck now, looks like a career is one generation of weapon system. No wonder I cant see properly, it catches up.
Does the gate guardian still have the mine attachment gear shown here, that would be cool. I salute you for your barracuda, a champion effort.

Thanks Kerry. A bloke I work with worked for SAAB and had some interesting tales about experimental versions. And some great reference photos he let me look at.
No Scott....the mine roller attachment was a suggestion from a former crewman. The Gate Guardian is 'clean'. I put on "The Green Skin" around the time the TV ads had the line "In the Army, not everyone wants to drive a Leopard tank." I think mum got sick of my reply...."Yeah but I do!" and thanks to the wonders at Kapooka I was given my second choice - Infantry. Got to work with the AS1 - just never in 'em.

Started in Cav, mostly Arty ended up as we often do an instructor (All Choco though). One of fondest memories was as FO in a 113 doing live battle runs with a Tank Squadron at Pucka. Awesome, not much beats it.

The noise the Centurions made when they hit the concrete apron after being on the firing range was the most amazing thing, as they had no rubber blocks in their tracks like the Leopards, and the clatter was awesome.

Was it live track, or metal on metal for track pins as well?

Apologies for the considerable delay Scott. Tracks are OOB.

I always love the Aussie leos, their colors are unique and looking very good. Your model is looking über Craig, extremely busy looking vehicle.
