Julian, I know what you mean. My wife thinks I am crazy because I keep stopping and taking pictures of these older trucks whenever I see them. Found a 1985 F-350 stake bed for $2850 and a 1989 F-350 flat bed for $3200. Unfortunately I wouldn't have the place to store it.
Es-haq, you have been a great follower and encourager. This model was my first attempt at raised white letters on the tires. I used flat white enamel on a stamp only to have it rub off when I mounted the tires to the wheels. It was suggested I dullcoat over the paint, so I did and it worked. Maybe next time I will use the white-out correction fluid!?!? I was disappointed that the bumper guard, roll bar and mirrors were not chromed. I am about to try some Alclad on some projects so I don't wind up with silver painted accessories next time. I also used the Bare-Metal chrome foil for the trim. Everything went fine until I tried to apply the "F O R D" decal on the back. The decal was so thin it rolled up and refused to be untangled. I also recently bought decal paper and will start remaking troubling decals and ones that are too old to be used properly. I keep trying to get better and while this model is not the epitome of that at least I think you can see the improvement. Be well my Scalemate friends!

Nice curtis.. I love these old trucks..

One idea for raised letters is a white pencil.. after you mount them 🙂 might work. I use it for buttons and switches in cockpits

Well done, Curtis!

Thanks Holger. I liked the way backing up to the log cabin with the tailgate down looked like it was ready for action. Tim Gibson is my son-in-law who works construction. I dedicate this "Tim's 24-hour Truck Care" model to him.

Excellent work Curtis. At first I thought it's real. I had to check twice to make sure it' not.

Album info

The Ford F-series pickups, best-sellers in the world pickup market, have also been the best selling vehicle in North America. Too bad AMT didn't make this model as good as the real thing.
