Yikes! Humbrol Clear varnish - is that similar to Future (Kleer)? Or is it an enamel or lacquer? Cracking usually occurs when the base coat of paint is not yet fully cured. When you spray over the top with something that dries quickly, the bottom coat may expand or contract while it continues to cure, and the top coat cracks as a result. I find this happens more often with acrylics for some reason, Future included. How long between spraying the Gunze blue and the Humbrol Clear? Looks like you recovered well, but what a pain, eh?

Revell of Germany has released the Matchbox kit several times and it is widely available

Most of the classic Matchbox kits is rereleased by Revell of Germany so I'm not surprised. It's a good n' simple kit to build if you wan't a recreational build.
