Why paint the cockpit in MiG turkoise while it actually is supposed to be Sukhoi blue? FYI, not all Russian aircraft are painted in in MiG equivalent cockpit colors.

tyu: the reference picture I was using had this color, then my "contractor" for this build wanted the Ukr version with Storm Shadow, but I will keep this color. The build isn't needed to be 100% accurate, but will be used for educational purposes, where that kind of details aren't necessary. Also the color looks more blue irl.

Nice build, i hoped you would build nr 20 🙂 (I've the Foxbot decals for 41 too.) Anyway, it's nice to have an example for this one to build, good work on the camo and weathering. How do you think about the kit's nosecone and exhaust? Is the nose a bit off, or do you have to look three times to see difference with the real one?

Amazing outcome, really love the paintjob and the choice of armament! 👍
You basically convinced me to make the same subject in the future.

Thank you for all the nice comments! I chose no 40 since I used a darker gray tone according to the instructions. I was planning on spraying the numbers, but after doing the fin I decided to use the decals for the numbers. It was faster and the decals were good except for the insignias . Since I was going for an opened nose I didn't bother with the shape for it. The masking templates from DN models was just awesome! Somehow it always ended up exactly were I wanted it to be and it was strong, flexible and the glue just perfect!
For the Storm Shadow I nicked a pair of pylons from an ECR Tornado and added some scrap plastic with steel rod as the bolts (note to myself…need to get the Punch and Die Set). After some new pictures came out after I just finished them I had to extend the pylon accordingly…took 2 days extra lol. 🙂
