man I hate when you paint and then the canopy doesn't fit

Nice label, Lukasz 🙂
Indeed Ben, but... I could have checked before!

Apparently this nickname has been given by its pilots 🙂

OK! That was my "time fuse" 🙂 Took a while - but now I've got it: the sound of the spoken word "Ascender" really fits!

Roland, all I can say is, I've made the same mistake. I paint the canopy separate from the model, so they don't come together til late in the build. The last time, I used white glue to bridge the gap, and then did touch up paint over it.

Roland building "something interesting" again! 👍 - you´ve hit the turbo boost button on your bench lately - B-58 hardly dry & decals are already settling in on the next build... 🙂 Looking great already, particularly the instrument panel is very nice with all the clean dials!

That... was... exceptionally... fast!!! And oops, I missed it!

Thank you mates for these very kind words!
The speed should not become an end in itself, but the curiosity is just really big with such an interesting and well made kit and drives it! Although, I have to say, now at the end the whole thing becomes quite tricky. On the one hand the kit is not boringly constructed, on the other hand the fit was not only with the canopy rather moderate,
The new photos rather show the final stage of the whole thing, I hope to have finished this eventful project soon.

Some quick pictures of the finished XP-55 "Ascender". As I said, in the end, things got a bit complicated, but, as the saying goes: all's well that ends well 🙂
I added two pictures that allow a comparison with the Ascender´s counterpart from Japan. This one was made years ago from the Haegawa kit. I hope you like the outcome.

Great result as usual. Well done Roland!

The Ascender is small compared to the Japanese.

Many thanks for your very kind replies, Nathan and Maciej! Indeed, the difference in appearance and height did surprise me as well!

Thank you Slavo! Yeah, pulled the Shinden from the depths of my dusty cellar compartment. The comparison really fits- and now her soul may and can rest in peace...

Thank you for liking this old one! Was my very first "Modelsvit" build- and totally convinced me of the qualities of this brand, as I can remember!
