"le Studio" WIP

We converted from oil-fired central heating to gas. Removal of a 2500litre tank to accommodate an office and naturally a studio for the builds.
We have to find space for numerous display cabinets, a leather sofa- and of course a beer chiller!

started with the insulation into the ceiling, then the plastering. Using insulated boards where necessary

"Thor" (my 6-month working cocker) quite likes the near-finished result!

Will experiment with a few dioramas of 'in-flight' builds.
Having a sabbatical at the moment - which means I’ve had chance to decorate the walls and ceilings.
These are the "RAF Syerston cases"- (Lancasters are a work-in-progress). I bought another Detolf yesterday- and now my capacity is temporarily used up- will investigate adding shelves to increase capacity
I feel like a museum’s curator- many models need a bit of TLC - the odd aerial broken off here, the odd decal torn there. This shelf is for remedial work! The 24th scale Spitfire is a 2 year work-in-progress, (as seen in the post).
In the UK we are currently experiencing a heat wave. This place is cooled by being in the shadow of our house- it's a lean to with the garage. A well stocked fridge with plenty of lagers helps too....

Thomas KolbIt looks very realistic, I particularly like the wooden effect in the ceiling beams. 😉 Anyway, I guess you are busy with this stuff and not going to do plastic for a while. Good luck!

Andy Ball@Thomas: yes this is an addition to a kitchen refit that has grown and grown and consumes money. The beams have disappeared under insulation and plaster board so it will be quite a clean interior. Hopefully done by Christmas holidays

Neil PatrickSoon as I saw the name Lerxst on your profile Andy I thought of Rush. I saw them on the Moving Pictures Tour and still have the programme. Youtube tells me Geddy and Alex have now begun selling Rush brand beer. And the Rush beer glasses just went onto my wishlist!
