@ Spanjaard The texture on the lower portion of turret is Mr White Putty( by Mr Hobby) thinned with a drop of AK Rc701 thinner applied in a stippling motion . Then I used Mr Surfacer 1000 to prime . Vallejo Matt Varnish 70.520 was applied with a #1 brush, thick dabs (but neatly) then evenly drizzle fine sand with a spoon (better to work in small segments )then tip over so excess sand falls off ,

Monawhat ratio paint /thinner should I use with Mr Color acrylic Lacquer , would it be about the same as AK Real Color ..30/70

Assuming this is for airbrushing, I thin most of my Mr.Color Paint to a consistency of 2% milk. This is generally 2 parts thinner to one part paint, but varies based on viscosity of the paint. I use Mr.Color leveling thinner.
I always test my paint on a scrap of plastic and tweak as needed. Cheers.

Hi Mona, I would use 2:1 up to 6:1 ratio in favor of MLT. Whatever works for your airbrush and varies if you are base coating or layer coating. Especially for GX100 gloss coating I use a lot of thinner. Be careful though, wet coating with mostly pure thinner can damage already dry paint on the surface. Most definately will damage metal lacquers.

I've been lucky so far ..Thank You very much for all the tip's and info . I'm new to air brushing , I have two Paasche Mod H ,one new one very old and a harbor freight cheapo' , But I have experience automotive painting ,Practice and technique ...tips do help Thanks Guys

Mona, Just a small point on how long it took to get a response, depending on how people have their views setup, sometimes things are filtered so it can take longer than people think to get a reply.

MonaCrashed on my mountain bike today ..great news I didn't hurt my hands , huge cut on my right arm (sutures)and many bruises ...But no broken bones . A handy cyclone fence stopped me from going into the Niagara Gorge , So I guess Uncle Nightshift (Martin Kovac) still holds the record for the summer ...I should have stayed home and worked on my Merkava build

At least you didn't need air rescue. 😎
It's best to heal your wounds and build some tanks in the meantime. 👍

Thank you , WhiteGlint ..If the fence wasn't there , I probably wouldn't be typing ..long way down air recovery would be the only way back up at that spot in gorge . But Live to Ride , and I will be building tanks in mean time ...I still have to get my bike back( and repair it) , from where I caught the ride to hospital

Mona, when I take pics with my cell phone, I transfer them to onedrive and from there withe the computer to scalemates.

Thank you for the info Olivier , some aspects of tech I am seriously behind the game ..I was taking my pics with a out dated Kodak camera , I now use a Canon Vixia HFR300 on a tripod lighting is also on a tripod and a home made shadow box . the album above shall soon be deleted and updated photos taken ,thus project on hold till the figures are completed .I've been working on other Projects ,yet to get back to this one

Thank you very much Jonn , this one helped to break up the winter doldrums ,each little rock glued one by one ,painted individually ..I used AK #8028 Puddles , churned mud by Mig ...and mud I made myself with acrylic paint "old dried spices "/PVA glue .I had a tremendous amount of fun working on this
