New philosophy,”weapons first “!!

Standard cockpit side consoles excellent relief moulded in all on a 30 year old kit amazing. Quick bit of dry brushing and the the detail on the dials pops out.

That went together real quick..! Ready for black base and marbling , tiniest amount of filler to smooth out the wing root, that was all. Can’t believe a 30+ year old kit fits so well. Seriously no gaps , no steps, even around the intakes and the notorious front fus/wing join. Only problem area was the instrument “coming”? Which didn’t line up when everything else did.

Thanks guys, it's a first on a lot of levels, no PE 😵 and first time I've tried marbling. I'm sure I can obliterate it with a heavy topcoat 😂

I've got to say, I'm not impressed with the fit of this kit or the alignment of some of the panel detail, notably the arrest or hook area, there's a notable step where the burner cans fit to the fuse and the heat shield around the arrestor is nicely Molded but out of line.

Hmmm that old testers kit is starting to look not too bad all of a sudden. 🤯

Thankyou Konrad, this was always intended to be a first 48th phantom and tryout different techniques, still can't believe I dropped it and broke the stabs off 😡. I have another sundowners set from micro scale , just need another phantom in addition the six I already have 😂

Thank you Daniel, coming from you that means a lot. I expect my next one to be a big improvement on this one as this was only my 3rd model after a 30 year break.

Calling this done , and in the cabinet .. sorry I don't have the luxury of a studio , or a decent camera , so it's from the iPhone on the kitchen work surface 😂
