The paint chipped off, so I practiced some weathering.

Experimenting with some bold colour modulation. I'm sure most of it will be dulled down with the subsequent coats, right?

First layer of washes: dark green.

Hardest part of the whole kit: attaching the wheels. The wheels on these old Eastern Express kits are terrible and are very difficult to align.

Wheels are on, painted, and washed. All that's left is tracks and pigments.

Tracks are on one side. Aftermarket tracks are a bit finicky but I think the end result looks okay.
