Oh I love Italeri too, they and Tamiya usually have 200-300+ pieces for the big/detailed kits, good quality too!

Had a massive problem trying to find out which engine is in this kit. There's actually a list, but gents, I can tell you that the list is wrong. It's actually a Cummins N14 Celect Plus engine. Nope, I didn't spell that wrong, it's actually spelt that way. So now I can actually paint the engine the correct colour.

Well then. I finally got some colour on the towing platform and managed to complete the cab interior, then build the cab. While removing the windshield, it cracked in the middle. I was kinda pissed, but the crack is hidden by the central bar, so I got lucky. Got some more to do on the engine before it goes in but things are coming along. The aluminium paint I used, is very interesting. It's a kind of mirror finish aluminium. First time I've tried this and I like it. Tomorrow should see the cab finished and parts going on. Thanks for tuning in folks.

Ok fellas, added a few more pictures. It's going together well, but there's a heads up. The cab roof was slightly warped at the front. I had to glue the back and sides, then a day later, I glued the front and clamped it with tiny crocodile clips, until dry. The hood has vents on the side. Under these are decals, that imitate grills. I decided to drill 8mm holes and put mesh inside the hood. I think it looks better. While doing this, I somehow managed to get a black mark on the hood, then I wet sanded it off and repainted it. Bloody sod's law, the paint orange peeled! So I flattened it down, after allowing it a couple of days to dry, then shot a thin layer of paint over it again. I've just managed to clear coat it tonight, hence no pictures of the full truck as yet. Decals are coming soon, then I can finish the chrome bits and get her done. Hopefully, by the end of weekend.

Danny, I love that Turnpiker! Just picked up the Italeri Freightliner 120 Special. I also have another group build to do, for a FB group I'm in. No pressure here then, lol

2 groupbuilds at same time? 😄

Lol Danny, yes! The other one is a break from the norm. It's a kitbash, scratchbuild truck dragster, from anything you want to use. A kinda Go Crazy and see what happens, type build? Just something to relax and enjoy being different.

@nathan. It's the Italeri Western Star chassis buddy. And just when I could see the finish line, the problems crop up! Trying to work out a fix, so I'll get back to you guys with that. Luckily, I've managed to save everything so far. Investigation work is currently ongoing, but I have taken pictures. Update to follow.

Looking great Bozzer. I just started on this model. I have the frame done and started on the cab. It so happened that the plastic window got damaged. Do you know if there are any other Western Star models that can give me a good fit?
