Nathan DempseyThis is one that I've been working on in the background here since joining. I found this kit with the conversion at a show for $15!! It included everything shown in the project. The catch was that a whole set of props and the 50 cal gun barrels were missing. The props were easy enough with some molds made of the existing ones. As you can see, I'm almost there. Just a bit of cleanup, decals, and weathering. Also I still haven't got around to replacing the gun barrels...

Clifford KeeslerVery nice. I have been trying to get ahold of one of these since they were re-released, but alas so far no one has had any in stock. Accoriding to the Revell AG website they are still in production, so eventually someone will get some. LOL.

Clifford KeeslerYea, I had forgotten about the ICM one, it should at least be more modern, engraved panel lines and such. Just wonder what the interior detail is like. The Revell one has some pretty decent interior detail.

Nathan DempseyIt will be like everything else these days. Super nice engraving, but will require $70 in resin for corrections and interior.

Nathan DempseyI've got two more of these to finish first. One glass nose in WW2 US finish and one six gun in El Salvador markings. If I ever get around to them that is!

Nathan DempseyAssembled and primed some of the weapons. Just awaiting the set of Brassin BLU-27 napalm canisters which should arrive this week. Trying to repair some of the masking damage shown in the previous pics... This has never happened with the Tamiya tape. Must be a fluke.

Nathan DempseyThanks Clifford & Augie! I'm slightly bummed today. My Brassin BLU-27 set showed up and was missing half of the tail caps/fin mounts. I guess this build is getting a mixed load...

Nathan DempseyAdded picture of the landing lights. Used Bare Metal Foil.
Work has stopped after I cut myself while working on the Cavalier and while trying to stop the bleeding I broke one of the props on this kit. Too many kits on the bench at one time!

Nathan DempseyThanks Clifford, yes I'm a-ok now. Had to delay finishing this one just a bit more. Had to order more gloss clear, and the BLU-27 fin problem was driving me crazy, so I ordered another set. All should be here sometime this week. Maybe I'll actually finish a kit soon!

Nathan DempseyThey came missing half the fin units. The pictures I have of the particular A-26K I'm building show all those BLUs with fin units. I was placing an order for some other things and noticed them on sale so just ordered another set. I'll probably use the finless ones resurrecting an old Skyraider on the shelf.

Clifford KeeslerHope you get it all worked out soon. Speaking of SkyRaiders, I have wanted the Tamiya ones forever, well I finally broke down and ordered both of them, from Walmart no less. They look like they will be excellent builds. Waiting on some aftermarket goodies to arrive.

Me too Clifford. The last ones I built were Matchbox and Monogram so the Tamiya ones should be a huge improvement. I'll probably put up albums for those old kits soon.

Nathan DempseyAlmost finished everything up, but I still need to put some flat black on the bottom portion of the napalm canisters. This was something that the unit I'm modeling was known to do in the field. I also did a massive amount of weathering to the aircraft, but it still doesn't seem like enough. Needs more exhaust staining...
There's also quite a bit that can be done with aerial rigging.
