Beautiful work on the engine sir! Real inspiration for me to start digging in on my tamiya 1/12 motorcycle. Kudos to you sir! 🙂

Thank you, sir. I got so sick of getting to the seat belts on cars and the projects stalling out that I have, for the moment, switched to Moto GP bikes. No harnesses on these bad boys. And they're fun kits as well.

That sounds great sir! Mine is the GPZ 400R, looks like a very nice kit. I started work on it quite awhile ago, basically sorted all the subassemblies into bags, and it's been sitting in the "Shelf of Doom". After I finish work on my other projects, i'll crack her back open and get to building 🙂.

Hey Bossy! Some bloody good work happening on this album. Very impressed with the whole motor, the clutch and the carbon fibre. I dips me lid to you!

Thank you. It's coming along. It's cutting out the pre printed ( but NOT precut) masks that are proving to be a bit of a pain. Should work out though......he said😉

Beginning to look like a motorcycle.....
7 March 2020, 03:19
Peter Hardy
Checa never left them looking like that for long!
7 March 2020, 03:47
bossy122
That means he was, "trying hard", right?😉
7 March 2020, 04:21
Peter Hardy
Crashed too often. Back then there was a huge difference between the "works" bikes and the privateers. Carlos eventually went to Superbikes and won a World Championship on a Ducati. Great rider who only got competitive equipment late in his career. So, I guess you are right, he was trying too hard!

The motorcycle equivilant to seat belts, out of the way....

More carbon....

Just spotted this, I'm all over it like a fat girl on cake....
That Carbon looks very very good, so does the motor & chassis, shame it gets covered 😉

Right?

Peter, I remember when we used to called him Chubby Chucka D)
Great hard charging rider, all the madmen have gone from the sport now.....

Bossy, was the fork set worth the money over the stock kit piece?
19 March 2020, 18:44
bossy122
Ooh, yeah! Just to not have to attempt to sand off the seams on the kit forks, in my mind, makes it a bargain.

Rear wheel/swing arm attached......that was a bit of a chore.

Doing an excellent job on the carbon fibre Bossy. Love the mill too. As Monkey said, it'll be a shame to cover it up!

That's what I think everytime I see one of these highly detailed cockpits done by the airplane modellers. But we do what we do, right? 🙂
22 March 2020, 22:38
Munkyslut
Agree with Peter, even simple little things on that bike are so nice, the carbon heel plate on the rear sets for example.
Is that the kit chain?
22 March 2020, 22:49
bossy122
That is the kit chain. I cannot even begin to imagine doing on of those PE chains!
22 March 2020, 23:03
Munkyslut
Looks better than kit item to me, must be your golden fingers!
I can't imagine tackling a PE chain either........ 1/6 yes maybe but 1/12? ...... you must be having a laugh!
22 March 2020, 23:18
bossy122
I think what I did was gave it a bit of a wash with Tamiya Panel Line to accentuate the gaps n such.
23 March 2020, 00:17
Peter Hardy
I have tried 4 times to do a pe chain. Best part of $200. Crashed and burned every time.
23 March 2020, 00:32
bossy122
You're a better man than I! My mind reels at the thought.
23 March 2020, 01:38
Peter Hardy
I just proved that I wasn't!
23 March 2020, 02:14
bossy122
But ya gave it a shot....4 times! That's 5 more than I would try! 🙂 Instead of the "college try" you gave it the "Checa try".
23 March 2020, 02:19
Peter Hardy
I was probably just as pissed off as Carlos dumping it on the last corner while leading.
23 March 2020, 02:39

Bit of a set back......
24 March 2020, 20:08
Munkyslut
Yeah....... what happened?
24 March 2020, 20:59
bossy122
Shit decals. I have some from a different company coming so it's just a minor delay. Disappointing, none the less.
24 March 2020, 21:13
Munkyslut
I'm terrible with decals, fat sausage fingers & zero patience combine to turn any job in to a shit tsunami 😭
24 March 2020, 21:47
bossy122
These cracked as soon as I tried pressing them down. And no amount of softener helped the things.
24 March 2020, 22:32
William O.
Whaaaaaaaaaa! 🙁
26 March 2020, 22:17
bossy122
Easily fixed. Just waiting for better decals from the other side of the globe.
26 March 2020, 23:27

pity to see that... hopefully it will much better with the new ones
27 March 2020, 00:03

Its not often I come across decals that have NO reaction to Microsol, but these things didn't even flinch! "That the best ya got, tough guy? Ha!" Brutal.
27 March 2020, 01:14
bossy122
The decals aren't moving very quickly ( for some reason ) but I cabled the thing up.

The decals haven't left their country of origin, may be a while before this gets finished.

Wow! Simply great!
8 April 2020, 19:57
bossy122
Thanks. It's killing me that even after puttying the seam on the exhaust I didn't eliminate the seam. No contests for this one, I guess. Bugger!😉
8 April 2020, 20:28
bossy122
So here it, 98% finished. Looks like it may be some time before I recieve those last 2 decals. In the meantime, I guess I call it finished.

That's bloody brilliant mate, just looks so 'correct' 👍
I can't even see the pipe seam you mention!
