Adolf Aragon coen, did the assembly go smoothly ?
12. September 2015 at 03:52:23
M.Julian Marles Wow! I havent even seen it in stores yet!

Coen C There were a few issues with accuracy and some over scale parts that I had to replace, but the build itself was exceptional. The instructions are the easiest instructions that I've ever seen.
Rye field models is about to release an early production tiger with a full interior soon. They just announced it.
Kit number 5005 I believe. There's not much info on it at present.
If it's of interest, I did a review of the rye field initial tiger I on the international scale modeller forum.
Here's a link to it.

M.Julian Marles Yeah. I have seen Byrden's tweak list too. Apart from the fenders pretty easy fixes..

John Van Kooten That's a great build review, Coen! Very informative and useful!

Wayne Hale Don't know yet. Still too early not being released until August.
16. July 2015 at 20:59:47
Hunter Cummins I really hope, cause Dragon is very irritating

John Van Kooten Lucky Model is taking pre-orders for only $44.99! That is a truly great price for a kit with this level of detail!

John Van Kooten
This is seemingly a great kit but it does come with some issues! Some are merely cosmetic and can be remedied fairly easily. However, others are quite serious,f.i., the problems with the side skirts!

Take a look at David Byrden's website for specifics: tiger1.info/models/products-page/RM5001

And follow this thread over at Track-Link for an extensive build log (including well placed comments by David Byrden): track-link.com/forums/site_blogs/24224/flat

I really do suggest you go through them BEFORE you buy this kit!

Personally, I will be holding off for the moment to wait and see how Rye Field is going to handle the currently exposed issues.
10. August 2015 at 08:22:52 Share
H K The thing with the side skirts " cannot be unseen" :D Luckily only looking at the tracks drives me insane...so no intention of buying this kit.
10. August 2015 at 09:15:42
John Van Kooten Hahaha! Yeah, the tracks are indeed "a bit much" ;) very detailed, though :)

And indeed! The side skirts need fixing no matter what. As you say, it is right there, in plain sight.

Fixing it is nigh impossible because the lengths of the front skirts are incorrect. And the openings in the skirts vs the bolts are also incorrect... I think the easiest way out would be to take the aftermarket route and use a PE side skirt set, where you could shave off the attachment points on the side wall of the hull and replace them with correctly positioned ones... but it is either very difficult or will cost you money... both, I think, are not acceptable for a kit like this.
