As the Hobby Design detail-up Set finally arrived (I've been waiting for it for a long time), I decided to do a Rallye-break and start working on a treasure out of my stash.

The Alfa 155 is THE DTM car, no discussions🙂

I remember the time at the Norisring in Nürnberg when I saw these cars racing. It's just stunning. I was totally into it and bought an Alfa 155 in the 90's. Still great memories, even though it was the typical „Alfa quality" 🙂

As the Tamiya kit is from the mid 90s and the decals are a bit yellowish already, I ordered new Decals for the Larini livery anf also some carbon decals to add more details to the dashboard and the engine.

Can't wait to get started…..

I remember this "good old times" as motorsports was motorsports with drivers fighting each other and not that "radiocontrolled"...boring sport today.
Not often you see that car as work in progress those days, too many collectors calculating the price and lay no hand on.
keep it coming 😉

I'll do my best 😉
I agree with you. What's the fun of having it in the stash for years and then make a profit of 50€

There has been a lot going on. Even a "grande disastro" 🙁. I completely messed up the body when I tried to paint the frames around the windows in black. I used really good masking tape.
However, as you may or may not know, I'm not using airbrush for my models. And the painting was terrible. I actually had to throw away the body and I was ready to give up.
But I got another kit for a reasonable price and started over again.

If someone has good tips how to get this small lines around the door windows, windshield etc. in a good way, please shoot!!

Anyway, it's coming together slowly and I'll move on.

Next is interior with as well as the body decals.

Hm. I am doing the window trim after applying decals, clear cote and polishing as a very last step before adding clear and other small parts to finish the body shell.

I actually use a combination of decal Matt black stripes and free hand painting to do the window trim: first I outline the trim with thin decal stripes and after that I paint the rest by simply using my 0.2 brush and Vallejo Matt black.

never got myself satisfied with masking and spray painting the window trim (always looked like the rats where on it) so I developed this method for me. Downside is that it is quite time consuming but effort pays off in a totally clean and very rubbery looking window trim. Requires a little practice in fitting these decal stripes too…
