Very nice, great progress so far! I wish I could get my hands on some of the Revell DTM kits.
those kits are difficult to find, I paid a "fortune" to get it....
Nice! Have been at the Lausitzring and have seen these things racing around the track. They make a very nasty sound. So cool...
does anybody have a tip to avoid transparency issue (see picture 25) when the first decal has already been positioned ?
You can Try white decal sheet underneath the actual decal:
or simply cut the shape of the white out of the darker decals.
You can also use white paint on the darker decals but thats some kind of surgery on the open heart wich i would not recommend if you ask me 😉
i realised the problem too late so impossible to cut the darker decals. I will order soem white decals as you suggested.
I would leave it as it is: came out very nicely 👍
Next time you know 😉
thanks Dennis, and yes, no intention to change this one now.
That is NICE !!!!!!!!!!

Great Classic Kit. I`m not jealous. I have one .....waiting for its turn in a pile. Its realy a beautifull model kit. Enjoy has much has you can. Meanwhile check the blue. It looks metallic ? It shouldn`t.
Hi Jorge, thanks for your message, and you are absolutely right, I apinted it with metallic blue and I shouldn't. I will repaint it with "regular" blue.
The new blue blue paint is much more realisitic . Thanks again Jorge to have it well spotted.
I use tamiya TS15 on my Tyrrel`s. Tamiya X4 is also an option.
Are your front wheels doing that pigeon toed thing?
@bossy, not sure I understand your question, my English seems to be limited. Could you elaborate a bit ?
On my 1/12 P34, the 2 rear front wheels point in slightly and do not align with the 2 front wheels. I have heard from others that theirs did that as well.
I have the same issue, they are not perfectly aligned, I didn't notice before you asked. will see how it looks when the wheels are in place. How did you solve it on your side ?
I Didn't. Looking at mine now, it looks like the steering rod is what's pulling them out of alignment. Could you cut the end that attaches out of sight off and have it still attached to the wheel so that everything looks normal? Detaching K8 from D42.
Thanks bossy for the heads-up on the toe in, I'll be taking extra care when in build mode. Stephane, nice job
Looks brilliant! Nice Job on those engine details.
Makes be want to build a classic f1 car too...

Did you use that awful shower curtain material that Hasgawa includes with the kit for the harnesses? I could never get that crap to cut in a straight line. Yours came out quite well.
Hello, yes I used their shower curtain (I like this wording) but what I did was to stick it to a tape so that it was not moving when cutting it. The first try without it was a nightmare.
That is a good idea, I may have to try that. But then there is the problem of the curtain being folded and not being able to flatten it out. Did you overcome that as well?
I kept them between 2 heavy books for 2 days, it improved a lot but it was not yet perfect
You can also use tamiya-tape (or any other masking tape you prefer) or band aid or this foil-seal-stuff from wine bottles (dont know the word for that) to make seatbelts. You just have to paint it in the color you want...
Will you paint the blue or attempt the decals on the butt end?
I actually have some nice gift wrapping ribbon that is the width of the harnesses. Still hate weaving it through the hardware though. That's usually where my rally cars stall out is me hating doing harnesses.
Try some harness for Aircraft in 1/72 scale. This stuff gives you the creeps😉
By using mr. Mark Setter and mr. Mark Softer i am getting good results with the harnessdecals even on fabric surfaces.
Ah, the butt end isn't blue at all. I think you may have the cow catcher on the front put on backwards. Try flipping it over.
In fact, I didn't take picture of the car with the Telefonica blue as the decals were too bad. I tried then to remove the blue part of the decals, and then paint but was not able to have appropriate masking. I gave up and remove al' the paints and changed to this marking with the ora'ge directly painted instead of using the decals.
Martini-Warpaint is allways a good choice 😉 Well done!

Nice progress so far. I like the blue 👍
Is it a decent kit?
Honestly, not really good quality for the kit, a lto of sanding was necessary and I realised I should have done on some part of the body like Alpine Renault letters, 1600S letters, Alpine logo for example on the body are not matching the decals and there froe the result is not perfect. I had to change the wires for the engine because it was too "heavy" wires included in the kit. Also the tyres are extremely bad quality. Nothing comparable to the Tamiya kit, but I suspect you were already sure of this 😉
Actually, I have been undecided between the Tamiya and the Heller kit. Not anymore 😄. Thank you!
